Iv looked at the 35cm gardiners brushes a few times recently but i use a water genie viper so dont think i can use a gardiners brush with it. Goimg to just give it a go tomorrow. Bit longer on the scrubbing, no rinsing at all. Cant wait to try it

The video is a Gardiners brush on a Viper pole.  Just be sure your're to get a screw fit neck not a quick release one.

My mate still uses this technique has been doing it for the last10 years now. How he still gets away with it amazes me. We parted company about 6 years ago. I used to have to do the insides of commercials / residential houses and saw close up what no rinsing did. On hot days you could see brush swirls and even the pattern he was using when poling,  when the sun dried them out quickly. Light debris still stuck on the  glass along with heavy spotting.  Not for me thanks, that's why we parted company the round wasn't going forward infact lots of cancellations, fast forward 6 years hes still trading but with the same customers that have stuck by him. I am lucky enough to have tripled my round and the phone never stops ringing. If you have priced the job up properly why not do a good job.
If you do it properly it is a good job

I have built my round mostly on recommendations and facebook where everyone recommends me

If the flow is good then it is fine

You do also have to use your eyes like you would with any other method

Thats quite a statement @Viggers.  100% assumption that I dont do a good job simply cause your old partner didnt.

The method works, thats just fact so..

A: His water was not totally pure

B: His first cleans were never done properly to start with.

C: He's whipping round way too fast.as there of course needs to be a certain amount of water to get to the bottom.

If you noticed HE was getting poor results and you pulled him up on it and he still didnt care then going seperate ways was the smart choice.

If it's not for you then thats sound, you clean in whatever way you need to to get the right result.  This happens to be the way I need to to make sure I have 'done a good job'

Just to touch on pricing quickly.. i'm highest priced window cleaner in my area and books are always full.

Anyhow. Welcome to the forum @Viggers

Cheers Marko. i run on 80 flow on digital controller. Will i need to turn it up to 100 on the controller do you think? I know what you mean about custys thinking too quick. I dont mind losing a few who may think this as I will be much faster and will replace them with custys that are happy regardless of time aslong as they see their windows are properly clean. I use pencils, dont know if this will make lots of difference but on 4 weekly cleans has been fine so far

Using this method I’ve found it imperative to use high flow. However, you need to work out what that is for you. For me it’s full flow. Your pump may be more powerful than mine so 80 % May well be plenty. You’ll get a feel for it.

I think its 5.1lpm schurflo. Also using 6mm hose on reel. Dont know if this will make a difference in terms of water flow might be lower than if was using 8mm hose. Will try it on full flow first, if i get it right on that then i will try it on lower to see if its possible to still get them perfect

I can work with a lower flow but I have to work slower to get the same result.

The internal diameter (ID) of your hose is critical. Mine is 5.5mm but I use a short length. If it were longer I might have to use a more powerful pump.

If the ID of the hose is greater then the pump doesn’t have to work so hard to push the water through. This is why you need to figure out what works best for you

Always looking to improve technique and efficiency, will be practicing this tonight on my house. I have a 400 Ltd system and on occasion run short on water at end of busy days, a small saving would make a big difference for me.

On gardiners website it says quick lok, 90° screw thread and angled acrew thread. Any idea what one of these would fit the viper? Iv tried to see what type green is using but when im zooming the video its not clear enough to see.

You just unscrew the screw the stock from directly behind the brush and and your new one on with a screw driver.

Any particular reason for suggesting this @Green Pro Clean Ltd.
My guess is you need the screw type to fit the viper pole? Or did I miss something?

EDIT: Woops, too late.

Regarding not rinsing; when I moved from barrels to tank I turned up the flow 50% and unless the window is very tall (2m+) I don't rinse very much. For windows that are about 3 times the width of my brush I do the top, then both sides, then top again and make sure there is plenty of water on the window before I just move the brush down in the centre of the window. Spotless on regular cleans this summer, will be interesting to see how it works in bad winter weather. :)

No you didn't @Nudel. :1f609:

My mind was on another track and I didn't explain the track my mind was on.

I forgot when I first posted that Alex does a 90 degree screw thread brush holder/adaptor. So in my head I was trying to work out why @Green Pro Clean Ltd was suggesting an 'angled' (my assumption)  brush holder rather than a 90 degree Quickloq.

Recently I asked Alex to consider adding an angled Quickloq to his range as I prefer the angle of the threaded brush holder but would also like the ability of quickly swapping brush heads for different job requirements. I don't have a swivel on the brush (I have both in a box somewhere) and haven't used it for a few years now.

Highest flow I can get is 4 because I'm using 5mm hose. Still seems to get plenty of water on the windows,  ut maybe not enough for this. I might try 4x bigger jets and cranking it up to 5 and adjust the pressure switch?

@Green Pro Clean Ltd you say this only works on maintenance cleans, how do you do first cleans on 3 storey or higher, or very awkward reach windows?

All first cleans I simply scrub like hell and rinse till running clear.  (Not being egotistical but knowing when it's clean simply comes with practice)

I don't do anything above 2nd floor (Ground 1st 2nd) as I don't want it.  Sacked off all work higher as I like to keep things simple.

With regards to awkward windows,  again, scrub and rinse till clean or if too awkward I just don't do them.  There are far too many nice n easy windows out there.

Hi Spruce

I have just commissioned a prototype 30° Offset Quick-LoQ brush socket - drop me a line and we can discuss further :1f603:
