I have the quick release plate mounted on the floor for a manual reel.

The difference it makes having it on the tank in a SWB isn’t to be sniffed at though mate. Both my vans have the reels mounted on the tank, leaves room for the gutter vac etc.

I very rarely use the vac. About twice a year it comes out.This van is purely for window cleaning.

For those that need floor space I can see the benefit of a tank mounted reel.
