I know Grippank employees frequent these forums so I'm posting in the hope someone can advise.

I have the GrippaMax 500 delivery system.  On one of the output tube, is a transparent cover with a mesh inside - I imagine this is a filter to stop debris fro the tank being released.  When the tank was fitted, they guys explained that I needed to rinse the mesh occasionally.

So I unscrewed the transparent cover and water poured out - I had forgotten to turn the lock underneath on the tube.  So I put the cover back on, and turned the system back on and I got the “DE” error code.  I could hear the pump working until the DE error code flashed.

I turned the switch underneath the transparent cover to the “off” position, removed the transparent cap and rinsed the mesh.  Put it back together, then turned the switched back to the “on” position.

Now when I power up the system, nothing is happening, not even the pump.  The blue light under the tank is on.

If no-one can help, no worries - I'll have to wait until Monday when they are open.

I've got a similar set up and can't be of much use, but when I've cleaned the mesh filter I didn't even know there was a switch there so not switched it off.

I'm guessing the switch is knackered,or it might be worth taking the fuse cover off and checking the fuse.

I've had my system 3 years and it's been faultless.

I did suspect it was an airlock when the DE error code was flashing.  I wasn't sure if it was normal for the pump to no longer pump.  I don't think the DE code is even showing up now.

I'll have another look tomorrow!

Thanks all.

Like pjj says 100% check fuses. If I have ever had even an issue with my grippa reels it tends to blow a fuse. Handily there are spares in the see through cover part

I have the same system, and the same thing has happened to me and it was an airlock.

You need to disconnect the hose reel from where there is a connection point, push with a small screwdriver to open up the valve and turn the speed up to 99,  it will cough and spit then clear no problem.

Hope me that does it for you.

Great - thanks guys.

Just had another look in the dark. The pump is definitely powered up and the blue light is now flashing with the DE error code. So yes, looks like an air lock.  I will carry out Skywalker's suggestion tomorrow!

@NewGuy check the documentation that the system came with - it should detail the steps you need to take to bleed an airlock in your system...else Grippa's boy and gals are uber helpful....

@NewGuy DE isn't an error code at all, in normal operation when you turn your water off using an inline tap or univalve whatever you may use, the pump stops and and controller reads DE which is dead end detection, the pump will pulse like a heartbeat almost and the controller will continue to read DE once you open up the tap and go to clean a window it will work as normal with the flow reading at what you have set it at.

Thanks for the clarification on the DE code IronGiant.

I have sorted the issue out.  I don't know if what I did was wrong, but when the DE was detected - I set up auto calibration which set at "2".  I suspect this is why I thought the pump wasn't working.  I disconnected the hose reel pipe as suggested by Sky Walker and press on the valve, set up auto calibration and hey presto, it's working again.

Such a simple solution but now I know what to do (or not) in future.

Cheers.
