I find that i have two prices

1 price when im busy and 1 price when im not

So the simple solution is to get more work, up prices, more work, up prices.

i thought guttering would be roughly same price for each length as its easy to price for semi or detached house not so easy for mansions with multi levels of guttering but we all learn something new

Dangerous train of thought. If you say £2 per meter for example and start giving over the phone quotes or FB quotes at that you will come unstuck.

You will turn up with ladder to find no level ground to safely position yourself. You will turn up to see gutter in alley between houses 6 inch wide and you're expected to squeeze up a ladder.

Only ever do quotes in person and never be afraid to say 'thanks for thinking of me but not the job for me'

No worries there I Agree I always do quotes in person like to know what's to be done and how bad or good it is.
