What are peoples thoughts on the very warm weather next week. Are you working or having a break due to the issues that this weather might have ?

We are in the Gatwick area Monday - Wednesday doing contract work and don't have much option but to work through.
We will be taking plenty of fluids and wearing caps to try and counter the heat. Probably have to have breaks and sit in the air conditioned van as well. Never dreaded working as much so let's hope it isn't as hot as forecast.

It would be okay if you could start at 6am and finish at noon.

Will just play it by ear , if it gets to hot or we have had enough will just pack up , some of next weeks work is in the country and under trees so hopefully it will be doable.

You could always knock off and go and drink @steve garwood under the table

I'm taking Monday and Tuesday off, when it gets really hot I slow down anyway and it feels like I'm walking through treacle. Wednesday looks like it will be a lot cooler so breeze through the work faster and catch up.

Head gasket and the heater matrix has gone on the van so it really wouldn't be good for the van either, bad enough as it is.

I'm gonna start an hour earlier Mon /Tues than usual and start at 8am til around 2pm...6 hours is a normal day for me...

Sun cream, baseball cap, sunglasses and plenty of water/fluids and I'll be fine....I'll also sit in my van with air con blasting out at lunchtime

Good man @steve garwood might do the same myself ?
How can drinking alcohol in the day time in this heat be better than working a short day sober
We will probably break Mondays long hard day across Monday and Tuesday. It's a slog even when temperature perfect.
I never have a long hard day....I work no longer than 6 hours(max)per day.....?

I never slow down even in hot weather...I might take a 5 min break if I feel I'm getting too hot but that's it....it helps having a van with air con...I couldn't live without it these days!

Hope you get your van fixed mate...

I don't think I could work longer than 8am-2pm in very hot weather....6 hours is my normal working hours anyway

Cheers mate, struggled to find anyone local who wanted to do the work, everywhere and everyone seems fully booked up with work up to their eyeballs. Managed to get a place in Oldham for 2nd August, fingers crossed they'll sort it but I'm expecting a £1k+ bill ?
