Help with leaks

WCF

Help Support WCF:

Where abouts on the joint? Are we talking metal tap to black thread or to the hose? or is it from the tank?
I had a leak from the threaded part into the tank, sadly we only found this out after bolting the frame in and filling it, so no space to tighten/undo the joint. A friend of ours recommended this stuff and it worked a treat, though not sure how much itd help if the leak is elsewhere, it may need more PTFE. https://www.halfords.com/motoring/paints-body-repair/adhesives/evo-stik-hard-fast-metal-epoxy-putty

I had the same problem. Check all threads are clean of dirt and then go round with PTFE tape a good 5/6 times. Loads on YouTube about use of PTFE tape. Make sure all is tight but don't over tighten

Make sure you've wound your PTFE the right way so that it doesn't bunch up as you tighten the thread. A plumbing friend of mine uses 10-15 'wraps' on each thread so that theres a good tight seal, so make sure you have enough on, if not that metal stuff should sort it, just dont expect to ever take it off again ?

I had the same issue this year, I emptied the tank and whacked a load of sanitary silicone on and tightened it right up then left it over the weekend never had a issue since.

You can also buy liquid ptfe from Screwfix for about £7 I think it is

County Durham Lad

Sometimes them threads can be a pain, rad tails in central heating systems are the worst for it, plenty of PTFE if that fails fernox ls-x from Screwfix is magic for stuff like that

Change your plastic reducer for a brass one

Also is the black reducer fully in? I can see a lot of thread

I've had it all to bits and put loads of ptfe tape on and tap right into to tank and it's stopped leaks cheers everyone I'm still learning
