Not sure, but if they do get them from china, i would be very surprised if A....they haven't been over to the factory to check it out and spec the clamps to how they want i.e. Patent or promise that they wont be copied for X amount of time, or B....someone from the factory hasn't come over here etc etc

I'm dam sure if i was setting up a wfp supply company, thats exactly what i would expect or do

Here you are tenchy.......scroll down to the bottom and you can see the different colours available, only thing i can notice is the clamps aren't chamfered to prevent finger nipping, also found all the clamps and levers for spares.....starting to wander if its worth buying some then flogging them lolhttp://www.alibaba.com/product-gs/1252248160/carbon_fiber_telescopic_window_cleaning_pole.html

On this page, they look like aquadapters new v-lite range

Our clamps are made here in the UK and to our registered design and our utility patent. Therefore we know that anything that comes out of China looking/working the same as our clamps is not a genuine Gardiner product. Of course any of the factories over there can do want they want in making and advertising poles/clamps, but if they start getting sold in the UK, US, Europe or China in the retail market and infringe on our patents or design then our patent attorneys will act against both the factory and any re-sellers. This can be quite a long and protracted procedure, but this does mean that the eventual settlement would see even more money changing hands due to any sales that have been made by the re-seller in the meantime. Firms such as Alibaba and eBay maintain very good records which can be called upon in the event of legal action.

If you want to buy/sell a pole from China it would be prudent to buy/sell one that is not a copy of one with patented clamps - of which there are many to choose from.

Good on you alex, speaking for myself, I am so glad that you contribute on here.

As users of all these different poles, (personally i have only experience with brodex and phoenix), in a way we qualify as experts but only with a couple of poles, even lads who have employees or have had/have loads of poles only have respectively limited experience, so we can only comment our experiences, whereas you deal in thousands of poles so personally whatever you say i will take as given.

On the strength of your recent reply alex, i have just ordered an slx 22

Gotta back british lol

Look forward to getting it and having a play, and doing a back to back with my phoenix

So to answer my thread title........I went gardiner lmao

i just cant decide whether to go gardiner clx22 myself or the facelift phoenix, i do prefer the way the faelift locks but i also think having alex's back up and advice on here is important too!

ive just priced up the pole on the gardiner site and am struggling with all the options lol being a newbie to wfp!

You wont go wrong either way mate, don't fret, just get one or the other.

As soon as i get my slx i will let you know how i get on with it compared to the phoenix

cheers fella, apreciatte that!

ive just priced up a clx 22 with a free brush and neck and comes in at £139 posted, thought thats quite cheap as i was looking around £150 but would a 22 be tall enough for most two storey homes?

haha cheers alex, your a top man keep answering all my mithering questions lol, im a complete newbie with wfp and i like to fully research anything i buy.

after initially getting confused with your options on the free brush and fittings with the pole i have finally worked it all out after watching your great videos!

can i ask a few questions though!!, firstly which would you say is the best brush out of the superlite medium mixed and the flocked for general everyday use on windows, trims etc?

and secondly if i bought a pole with the free brush and resineck does it come with the push fit t connecter for the resineck and if so i presume all i'd need to do is fit a hose connecter and plug it onto my microbore and away i go?

I would personally go for the Medium-Mixed for everyday use - it cleans almost as well as the Flocked and holds less dirt and rinses more easily.

When you buy the pole with Resi-Neck and brush the brush comes with jet hose and T connector and the Resi-Neck comes with a short length of hose through it that pushes into the brush T and has a straight push-fit connector on the bottom ready for your pole hose to simply push-in to. You will need to purchase/select a pole hose pack. All poles come with the new 'All-Season' pole hose or the PU hot hose if selected. My recommendation would be the yellow all-season pole hose. You will also need to choose the end connector on the pole hose to enable it to plug into the connector on the end of your Microbore.

thats great Alex, just as i thought then, my microbore pipe is 8mm but im going to get a 8mm connector one side and i presume your pole hose is 6mm so i'll just get a connecter to fit that!

pretty certain im having a pole off you now but ive just been told to check out the streamline poles but what is swinging it for me is the amount of other windies who use gardiners with very little if any bad words to say against you or your equipment plus i noticed you yourself are on these forums which is always good too!

Our pole hose is a 5mm so will take 5 or 6mm connectors fitted. The pole hose comes with the option of various connectors supplied pre-fitted so it should simply be a case of working out which type you currently have on your 8mm ID Minibore and ordering accordingly.

If you can afford to spend a few bob more (use your tips) get the SLX22. You won't regret it. If you don't get the SLX, you WILL end up buying one one day! I love mine, I went from an Unger 30' fibre glass to the SLX22, omg what a difference!

hi Tuffers, the prob is mate the slx is like anouther £100 over the clx and my budget was originally £100 then ive pushed it to £150, along with building my trolley and setting my ro and tank up its all adding up lol, so i cant go anymore really at the moment but whats so much better about the slx over clx, are they stronger or lighter or something?

Lighter,, and it does make a difference

My 1st pole weighed quite a bit and within 2-3 weeks i had developed tennis elbow, bad enough to worry if i could carry on using a pole. I even went back to trad for a few weeks in a hope that it would go away, which it did, but as soon as i started wfp again it came straight back!!

Once i swapped to a carbon pole it disappeared and over a year later i have no aches or pains, apart from normal knackeredness that comes from a good days work lol

I think the composite poles are only a 100-200 grams heavier than a full carbon, i cant comment on them as i have no experience with them, my 1st one was a fibreglass 3 section which when collapsed is 2metres!!! I use it to push my gutter back after it creeps away from the wall.......a complete waste of money and a bad intro into wfp

Also i know you're money is disappearing but one of the best things you can get is an aquadapter or maybe an aquatap, again i used a ball tap and it just tangled in my feet, bushes, flags, steps you name it.....again i was not impressed with wfp. I use aquadapter and it revolutionised my day at work, but its down to experimenting some folk hate em

Get what you can afford for now as something like a clx will get you started then when you can afford to upgrade do so
