Closest to me is Grimsby unfortunately
And I’m going with the facelift phoenix 500 advanced with heater( 2x man) it’s a 11 hour round trip nowhere else near me does hot water systems and if I’m paying out all that £££ for it an extra £699 to get it fitted by them is nothing for a piece of mind anyone else got this system ?
Are you getting it fitted at PF in Grimsby?

I went local for this reason but they turned out to be a load of crap. Constant problems since I’ve had it and terrible customer service.

Avoid The Cleaning Warehouse in Willenhall whatever you do!
I think I remember your topic now you had big issues with there heater did you ever get it working properly or have you ripped it out ? Sorry to here your frustration with them

I think squeaky clean Dave has the pure freedom one and likes it a lot not herd anything about the facelift one but I’m pretty sure pure freedom and facelift are same company now so you may be able to get facelift system with pure freedom heater?

Thanks for confirming. I am looking at getting a two-man hot water system retrofitted to my existing setup. I am not really wanting to go to WCW, which unfortunately rules out Pure Freedom too. So it's Grippatank, Xline or Streamline (except that Streamline are so much more expensive and I cannot see any reason why)

Pjj, you have a couple of different hot water systems don't you? Just interesting in getting real life info on which system is best.

Yes I have 3 Ionic’s systems thermopures and a Grippatank 9 kw two man boiler added on to another Ionic’s system it’s a very good set up but I have reservations about recommending Grippatank as their customer service was appalling when I last dealt with them ,that was several years ago I won’t deal with them anymore, but don’t know if they have improved, I would just be fair you deal with them , they claimed they had stuff in stock take your money then it takes weeks to get the goods as they weren’t in stock plus many reliability issues with various bits of kit , shame really as their bolt on boiler set us is very nice .

I've dealt with them before and had no issues, so maybe just a one-off? But doesn't sound good. I couldn't tell on their system if you can adjust the temperature to a specific number, or is it just warm or hot? And they say the max temperature is 60, which I thought seems low for a 9kw system.

Looks like to retrofit with Ionics, it would be with their Hotbox

Unfortunately it’s not a one off I know many that have experienced the same issues .The temperature is fully adjustable but there is no numbers on the valves so it’s trial and error , as for temperatures it will produce much more that 60 degrees trust me , the thermopures do get hotter as they only have one heat exchanger on the older models but the Grippatank one is plenty hot enough .

Thank you Pjj, really appreciate your help. At that price, I don't want to risk bad customer service or reliability issues

Another vote for going as far away from Grippa as you can... once you get there go a little further just to make sure.

Pure Freedom are owned by WCW but they're two different companies with different staff. WCW do sort out problems but they need some prodding. Pure Freedom go out of their way to fix issues.

I have a recent example of this. I bought 2 reel master reels on Black Friday from WCW. Only went to fit them at the end of January and realised they sent the cold water version. WCW passed this straight to Pure freedom who had 2 new hose reels with me the next working day and arranged collection on the 2 cold water reels. We installed the hot water reels and the chain came off the top one on the first day. They immediately sent out another and arranged collection. Unfortunately the next reel had the chain come off immediately also. Again they’ve arranged a replacement at their cost immediately.

The true measure of a company isn’t when things go right, it’s how they make things right when they’ve gone wrong. I have had personal experience of issues with a Grippa reel and I can assure you it took a lot longer than this to get things resolved. PF got the new reels into production almost immediately, Grippa wanted pictures and an email trail back and forth.

In terms of Grippa hot water systems….

They had me booked in 2 years ago just before Easter. I had a hire van from them so we weren’t a van down. On the Thursday morning before Good Friday they weren’t sure if they would have it finished. This was fine with me, I had an agreement to keep their hire van as long as it took. At around 1pm they decided they needed the van back and were ready. We dropped everything, moved the work back and haul as5ed across the country to collect the van. It was half complete. One working hot, the other just cold. A few bits missing etc but I was assured it would be completed the following week remotely. They finally came to sort it at the beginning of June.

Once installed I complained that they had pointed the exhaust for the heater at my through the floor roller guides which meant the fumes were circulating back into the van. After a lot of back and forth on many issues and long periods without response I opted to get the issue fixed myself. Took it to a Webasto fella who rerouted the exhaust out the side of the van. He also found the fuel line had been left resting over the hot part of the exhaust and had melted to it. He replaced this for me, but left me with the fuel line which I have previously posted a picture of.

Thanks for explaining all that @P4dstar it is really helpful.

So Pure Freedom are still at the high standard they used to be? That's good to know, as before WCW touched them, they would have been my immediate first choice for the hot water system
