any one got any good ideas to remove o clips or oetiker stepless o clips from a uni valve

Hacksaw the ‘ears’ off carefully or maybe a dremel with a cutting wheel. 

In the future if you use a PU pole hose there’s no need for them.

i have a set of mini bolt cutters, they are the size of pliers but much stronger and just clips them off easy as anything. similar to these ones. i always wondered why people made sutch a fuss about getting oclips off but i always had these in my tool box.

In time you will get to know where videos are that will help you.

Try this one by the manaufacturer of the Univalve. It isn't about the Univalve but its to remove a Slick Connect from your hose but the principle is the same. See from about half way through.





On occasion I have used my 115mm angle grinder and ground the ear off. If doing it this way I have to be extremely careful as heat builds up quickly. I don't want to melt the hose barb of the Univalve.

A 115mm angle grinder with a 1mm or 0.8mm thick cutting disc would be a better option. Cutting the ear off rather than grinding it off.

I also used small headed electrical screwdriver to prise the ears open, careful not to stab yourself though.

well I needed to take off  and change the o ring on my uni valve.     shxt     it actually happened.    cutters on each side of o ring .  all going fine, twisting o ring off either side then snap.    ohh what have I done.   only snapped off the barb end off  with the pressure.

needed to order a new one.      should have left o ring on but it was leaking.    couldn't tighten o ring no more, needed replacing.

I forgot how much they were.
