Hi guys,

I'm new here and just recently started going alone window cleaning these past few weeks, I've managed to bag 10 customers who so far are pleased with my service. I've attached a few pictures showing before and after from a few jobs I was on. These are all first cleans (some have been a lot worse than shown) everything I do is through traditional window cleaning, where possible I use poles instead of ladders but sometimes you just got to climb on a roof right? I like to give my customers a full clean which is windows/frames/seals and spruce up their doors a little bit. Each job took me between 1.5 - 2hours to complete scrubbing everything. Hope you guys like, any and all comments welcome.

Cheers.

Welcome to an invaluable forum for newbies (im still one)

My 2pence NEVER take a risk, never climb on a roof.

And start putting money aside for WFP set up asap

Thanks man, the only roofs I go onto are someones extension roofs if I cannot pole the window through lack of room/angle.

Strangely enough A few of the customers I have got, they had said they don't like the wfp clean. Apparently they have had bad experiences with it from their old cleaners. I have been finding a few people saying that. Not sure what to make of it all as I have never used wfp so I just say "oh sorry to hear that".

As you're from Essex it was probably @Dendoing his usual shoddy work with the pole ? Those that don't like the WFP are either old and stuck in their ways or haven't had it done properly by pole. Good luck with your new venture.
Thought I recognised them windows ?

Where abouts in Essex are you based @AndyMan

Do a good job (looks like you already have that in the bag) and you will always have work.

Thanks Den, all I have at the moment is my work ethic, as I'm brand new and need to build trust and a good name for myself I'm really trying to go that extra mile until I have solid word of mouth. I was really surprised one of my customers actually called me up last week to say he really liked the clean I did for him. So all I can do is just keep that going for myself.

I'm in Basildon mate.

Looks like @Marko067 as some new competion in town lol he's from Basildon as well.

Im not a million miles away from you I cover South woodham ferrers and surrounding areas.

The customer that phoned will also tell friends and family word of mouth is paramount and the best form of advertising 95% of our work now comes through recommendation the other 5% is walk ups.

Honestly determination and and dedication is key to build a good round in this business and don't take any knock backs  like please cancelling your services personal as their is Messers out there, also people's circumstances can change also.

Good luck be polite and work hard hopefully this time time next year your books will be full.

Nice job, 1.5 to 2 hours for first clean is not a problem if you only have 10 customers at moment, and have the time. More experience will produce more speed.

Would suggest you are not doing a first clean  but a restoration clean though!!!. There is a difference and different pricing.

Whichever, your customers will be well pleased with your results.

@AndyMan I just had a big maintenance firm phone me up and are looking for someone to clean a block of 10 flat in Maldon needs to be done traditional method it’s not for me as I’m 100% WFP

Can PM the the name of the company if you like?

You've done a nice job, with some practice you'll get your times down substantially.

There is still a demand for traditional window cleaning from customers who have a poor experience from some WFP operators who are incapable of producing a good result, and give the rest of the professional WFP operators who do an excellent job a bad name.

There is also another niche market to look into, many window cleaners will wash down the outside of office blocks but will decline to clean the insides if asked. This is a nice cushy job especially in bad weather and can be very profitable.

Also don't walk on roofs, you can slip off them, or fall through them, felt on a flat roof may hide rotten chipboard underneath. Plus if a roof ever leaks, the customer may try to blame or sue you even though its not your fault.

Good luck building up your business, when you can, get a WFP.
