New Squeegee

I have been very happy switching to Liquidators. Once I finally applied the PolznBlade & Moerman advice to make the glass really wet I got better results with the turns.

I also learned that it doesn't like sharp turns like traditional squeegees, so I am learning to do more side to side vs. diving downhill. I saw a video of PolznBlade doing side to side at the Moerman office and it finally sunk in that he was doing that because that is where it gets the best results.

That is what we have been telling people for ages

It is a brilliant channel but needs to be treated correctly and used in the right manner and it will be the best channel you ever used

However once you get used to it enough you will find your technique alters to your own style that works not how you have been shown

On the right windows if i am in the right mood i use my liquidators like normal squeegees but on other windows you would never use it like that

.it becomes instinctive

In the last few weeks I have noticed, that with me current technique level it seems to work better on some windows than others. But I'm slowly learning what I'm doing wrong on some windows. I've just started really dialling back on the pressure I'm putting on the squeegee. It feels really strange now because I'm hardly using any pressure at all. I could literally pinch the handle between to fingers and squeegee the solution off.

And the other point I've noticed is

The liquidator loves loves loves the glass soaking..... the wetter the better. Which is handy because I worked like that before hand anyway.

I don't have the glass very wet..it loves the slip from the soap

I use a dash of squeegee off in my water now and soap direct on the aplicator/glass

I find the squeegee off gives it a bit extra slip and kills the bubbles a bit so less stuck on the frames

£2 a bottle in b&q at the mo

At 15:00 and 22:30 there good examples of the side to side technique. [media]

After I got my channels (10", 12" and 14") I learned that the end clips like to fall off so I used super glue on them. No more searching for clips after that.

I had the glass really wet. The solution was about 20% windshield washer fluid and the soap was Waxie Liquid Squeegee, which has really good gliding . The temp was about 16 Fahrenheit/-8.9 Centrigrade.

Funnily enough, I've just finished playing around with solutions

Different amounts of soap and water.

Seems to get on fine with more soap less water. I was using the pole and the handle set on 10 degrees with a 14" channel. Was gliding across the glass with ease. Since using the excellerator handles I can honestly say I'm not really liking the liquidator handle as much now.

25 degrees is lovely for in hand work.

And 40 degrees for working above my head seems fine too.

I can see another excellerator handle being purchased for my 12" channel.

I need a decent angle adapter for second story pole work, but no idea what to get

Get the moerman angle adaptor or unger adjustable one with the optiloc cone as it fits the handle perfectly

These who use lots of squeeges and bucket on belts with all different size of blades gets to me at end of day all you need is a mop and blade i use a size 14 inch ettore brass blade spot on it works you dont see many videos of lads running up and down ladders and jumping fences with all this stuff weighing you down and clattering about dont get it

What do you use on the windows that your 14" brass doesn't fit on?

I was the same up until recently, I used to work with just a

10" brass squeegee

14" mop

Bucket on a belt

Ladders

And step ladders.

I've recently started taking on bigger houses with bigger windows and felt that my tools were becoming more hassle than help. So updated my tools.

All my tools are light, and my belt and holsters hold everything I need well. So climbing ladders and jumping fences doesn't cause me any problems.

There's a tools for every job and all that.
