I usually just squash them- opening up the ear, with a big pair of pliers. Then squeeze them the other direction to make them round again. After this they are loose and I just pull the hose off the barb. Only takes 30 seconds??
This works with the 9-11mm ones I use on 6mm microbore hose. Might not work as well on PU hose as it's thinner walled and might not have enough give to let you squash the o ring enough.
I don't think cable ties would be able to constrict it tightly enough to work well personally.
