Not at all desperate @Jimbo I have just found on previous quotes I have done for big commercial work I have not been winning them, if that is down to the price then so be it, it tells me there are others out there working for less than what I require per hour, I can't speak for these weather or not they do a decent job like I do, it seems price is the deciding factor for most of the big commercial jobs in my area.. When this one came through I just thought I'd play it a different way initially to see if I could get anything from them as to what the other quotes were and from whom as he has already told me the firms that are booked to quote, the young manager seemed quite in-experinced so thought he might talk once the quotes come in, if the quotes are lower than what I am happy with then of course I would not be taking it on. However I have now chose to put in a quote after thinking it through last night and will await the reply, I gave 2 separate quotations one for the big initial clean and payment on completion, and a on-going 4 weekly window quotation on a standard 30 day invoice.Well Trev with the initial impression you've probably given the prospective client ( your prompting him to let you know your rivals quotes, quite unethical on your/his part but very handy for him if he wants to play you for a mug ) you may well get it. If you do, make sure you get a contract drawn up for a set period. If you've worked your rate out then have confidence in it, DON'T give them an inkling you're desperate ( bit late on this occasion ) and stick to your guns. Good luck.
