I want to start pressure washing to earn a living I was wondering if this type of kit is any good as a start up or not and wondered if anyone could point me in the right direction for a start up pressure washer. Il be using my car for the time being so didn’t want it to be too heavy to lift up. Thanks

I'll be totally honest, if you want to do a job quicker and better, they just won't cut it. Yes, they are ok and do a job, but you want something at least 15ltrs per min. I would get in touch with Ben at Rutland pumps, give him your budget and he will get you the best for your money. The problem you're going to have is, 1) your car and 2) the weight, as the bigger you go the heavier it will be.

I couldn't imagine trying to do this job in a car.

First off look at what insurance you need as some specify a max pressure. You really should have liability insurance at a minimum as you can do a lot of damage with a high pressure washer, think about jetting a stone

From what I understand a 15l per min is really a minimum to run a decent flat surface cleaner.

Have you thought about the weight of a machine in a car? The first one is 60kg!!! That's a lot to lift in and out of a car plus you need to secure it as if you had an accident the weight of that would be thrown forward at your back!!!!

You usually also need a buffer tank as you can legally only pull 12l per min from a domestic supply plus some houses have very poor flow. So a buffer tank (wheelie bin or big barrel) is required and you will need to fill the buffer up before you start and have breaks to allow it to refill.

Maybe a trailer would be a better idea to start with? You could maybe store all the kit in there and park it in a garage? Plus there is signwriting opportunities for a box trailer.

Before you drool over shiny equipment I'd recommend canvassing and seeing if there's actually any work out there first.

I pressure wash but that alone isn't enough to live off as it's very seasonal based. Spring to Nov at the best of times

Rutland pumps WaterTek Honda GX390 21lpm 2900psi

20" BE whirlaway fsc

Various quick release AR fittings

High pressure hoses, guns, turbo nozzles, wheelie bin, garden hose and so on

Approx £4k

If using your car, you won't get any professional heavy duty equipment that's not big or not heavy

No chance whatsoever

I think I’m going to buy a small trailer my main question is will this kind of jetwash do the job properly

Rutland do a kit at 1700 can anyone tell me if that’s all il need or will I need more, I simply just want to do driveways as an extra income to my evening job at the moment but I want to be able to do it properly and to a professional standard still, I know  plenty about hypo to help with it but my issue is not understanding much about pressure washers and what psi bar and flow is needed to clear dirty drives

Plenty of information on here to read with regards to equipment specifications and applications

Why don't you look at reputable suppliers and ask them the questions or look what the focused trade suppliers list as kits

Rutland pumps

Bladeright

spinclean

Also check Facebook marketplace in your local area as many nearly new machines from failed business start ups regularly appear on there

is the Rutland deal with a Loncin machine? I have the briggs and stratton v twin, though I'm sure you won't go far wrong with a loncin and the starter kit it comes with. I'd rather pay a little extra and go with Rutlands and have all the advice that comes with it, they will sort you out with all you need and don't sell you anything you don't need or want.
