To put it in perspective…. I moved from near Cambridge back to the N/East….my house now, if it was on my old round I would charge £25. ….. the other day I had a newbie quote me £4!!!! up here!

I did work in Cambridge and Newmarket for a PM company and it was relatively well paid. To be fair that's a cheap price for up here, must be a fortnightly trad clean?

Only if that GP is a partner in the practice - only around half that for the majority of GPs, because they're employed rather than self-employed and running the practice.

Think your figures are a bit out I have several GP that are on over 100 k on my rounds most aren’t practice partners , here is an out of date nhs report

Builders clean if I had to give a price would be 150-250 dependant on time . As busy as I sm atm I wouldn’t bother with the builders clean just too awkward and ***** ya day up generally on windows unless done at the end of The day

was it a good move? i only ask as i had a custy who moved from the South to his roots in the N/east iv often wondered how he got on [ex met copper wife drank herself to death [also a cop] and he had a little heart-to-heart chat with me just prior to his move ["things iv seen lad ...you are doing the right job even if its humble ,,,im telling you" ]

No …it was 8 weekly and he was starting out (badly I fear!) Average price I’m being quoted is £12

The customer's perception of what window cleaning should cost hasn't changed much up in the NE in the past 15 years. @Cambridge Cleaner.
There are still areas not far from us where the trad boys still ask £5 for a 3 bed semi, and this is the going price. If an enquiry comes from those areas, we just say we don't clean there.

There seems to be a regular ' how much do you pay for window cleaning?' question on our local Facebook pages. I did involve myself on a thread once because the comments were ridiculous, but won't get involved again.

You just can't reason with stupid people.

That doesn't happen over my way, but what does is people asking for recommendations for a service and the last sentence is "who won't take my eyes out" It really baffles me that whilst the cost of everything has increased over the last 4-5 years that people don't think business owners cost have increased and that business owners are trying to rip people off.

if its a new build clean there may be cement splashes from outside work. Need to check all new build windows for scratches .
They can always blame you if noticeable after the clean

Same here in town centre areas they want to pay you what they expect to pay. Lads cleaning 3 bed houses @ £6 i wont do any in town streets now . They will easilly go for the cheapest . They will be shocked when you say you earn around £50/£60 per hour

I've always wondered if the customers take notice of how much houses you do in the street and how long your in there for. One old wife always asks me how work is going, she always says aslong as your atleast making minimum wage son, it's a small cul-de-sac which takes me 1 hour, sometimes 1 hour 10 mins if someone cones out and holds me back a bit. There's 3 houses and 2 flats that add up to £60. And she's worried I'm not making minimum wage.

This is for a Partner in a practice, as we own our business then we get paid more than an employee.
Working on a 45 week year they earn £82 an hour, on average for hours worked. They then have a considerable contribution to a pension as well so that's probably an additional £3 or £4 an hour

There is no set standard hours for a GP they can work part time hours and many are choosing to do this now rather than full time others do out of hours calls and some don’t , pay is dependent on experience , qualifications, and if they specialise in a certain field along with hours worked and hours on call .

If there working part time hours there obviously not going to be on full pay. A GP on full pay still doesn't make £72 an hour. That was what I stated originally and it still stands. You want another shovel to help you dog the hole ? Or you going to stop now.
