Pure water problem

WCF

Help Support WCF:

I test the tank now and again. It often goes up to 001 but 007 tells me the tank is contaminated. You don't need to go using chemicals on the tank and if you do it should be hypo mix or viral and a a thorough, thorough rinse. I was kindly given an IBC that had stood for a while, I jet washed it out, spent a while rinsing with tap and then rinsed for about an hour with pure, its perfect, holding pure at 000 for me no issues.

Why is my pure water settling in the tank at 7ppm when going in at zero? I have bleached and rinsed out, changed pre filter.
What do you mean by Pre-filter? Are you running an RO or DI only?

Further to @P4dstar's post. If the water is going in at zero then your method of purifying water is working fine. If the 0ppm of water you are putting into your tank reads 5 when its settled down in the tank, then the tank is contaminated.

@Nudelnoted that the delivery hose can contaminate water. WCW sold a whole batch that did this. Quite a number of window cleaners suffered with this issue, but that company continued to sell it.

BTW, changing a prefilter if you are using r/o will not change the output of your r/o. The 2 prefilters we use in our r/o systems are only there to protect the r/o membrane. The first is a sediment filter and the second a carbon block filter. The carbon block filter is very important as it removes chlorine from the water. Chlorine destroys membranes and this is why you need to replace your prefilters at the recommended times.
