Fleet Insurance

Anyone got any experience with fleet insurance? I currently have a policy with Admiral. It covers 5 vans and a car. They added my home insurance on which reduced the cost of everything to lower than it was without it. The home insurance isn't important on a new policy. Currently the monthly amount is circa £290. 2 of the chaps have had accidents recently which need to be declared at renewal. With this in mind I'm expecting an increase this year and considering if it's time to move to a fleet insurance. Does anyone have fleet insurance or is anyone able to advise on this?

Just to answer my own question in the hopes it will help others in the future....

I contacted several companies regarding fleet insurance. It was relatively simple, they all use the same insurers. Once they knew I'd contact others they all threw their best deal at me. A couple literally told me they wouldn't waste time going through it, there wouldn't be any difference and (in the current market) Aviva would be the only company willing to quote me.

Interestingly they don't care about modifications. 2 of them told me that if the modifications are professionally fitted and relevant to our line of work then they are covered automatically.

One piece of advice is to play around with the ages. Across the 4 vans I wanted 2x 21+, 2x 25+. When I worked out what I needed right now it's actually 1x 21+, 1x 23+, 1x 28+ & 1x 30+. This made a huge difference to a premium. Took it down from 6.5k to 5.5k.
