Anyone leave there system running at night on a low flow setting, have a sureflow pump 100psi due the the weather freezing thinking about leaving it running overnight, just wondering if it's worth it to keep the water flowing, would it have a negative effect on the pump running for say 8 hours?

Moving water is less likely to freeze so recirculating water through the pump and tank may help = the Motor running will generate some heat to keep the pump clear. But if temps drop well below freezing that may not be sufficient to keep the hose reel clear on its own. If the water does freeze in the hose then the controller will dead end the pump. A suggestion if possible would be to bring the hose reel inside overnight and run a short section of hose from the tank for circulation.

In terms of the pump running at a low flow rate the pump is going draw maybe 1 - 2 amps an hour so as already mentioned think about battery charging and condition.

A local windie only had street parking. He couldn't heat his van, as he couldn't run a cable across the footpath. He brought his hose reels inside and drained his pumps down every winter's night. He never missed a cleaning day due to freezing weather. He just considered doing this as part of his winter routine.
