It depends as they serve a different purpose. A remote is the better option on my setup. As Steve said above, saves pump and battery life.You dont need a remote if you use a tap.
Yes. The range is nowhere near 1000m, but with a new battery it works through/round an average sized house. I have a clip to mount the remote in my belt, and if it doesn't reach I might have to take it out and wave it around a bit. I have broken the antenna off though, and it worked a bit better with it on :laugh:So you switch off the pump in the van whilst working on the windows? Got a link for these devices. Do they work when you're the other side of the building?

If anyone is interested I can do a video walkthrough of the parts of my DIY setup. It isn't the best nor the absolute cheapest in the world, but i don't think the features I have can be built much cheaper.
