shop signs and ornings

ive bin asked to clean the sign and orning for costa the sign is no swet but the orning is red and coverd in bird crxxxap also its that canvis merteril stuff not the glossy smouve type can any one help on how to tackel this cems ect wfp will not do that good a job on these types

also i have a nother sign to clean its a 4k sign and its like stainless steal or some type of shiny metel that looks like it will scrach easy any sejustions on cleaning this i was thinking wfp with a flocked brush ? then micro cloth round the leters then rinse again??

@Taxlossloz did some Costa awnings IIRC. He might be able to advise.

there a pain in the ars im not keen on these but they gota b done i was thinking about charging £40 for the glass out side sign an awning ive allredy told the gaffa its guna b a bit hit an miss wether it will clean ok or not hence the cheep price as the bard crxxap burns in to it, to make things even more aquad its one of them awnings that have a sencer on it when its to windy so im wandering if it mite keep closing when im brushing it

strong tfr and high flow of water will shift it the metal sig might be tricky mate just watch that

i know a guy over here who does all the caffe nero awnings 4 times per year

They had black marks from rain . Soaked Ubik - then stiff bristle brush - then hot TAP water in backpack with WFP

These have wind sensor too but no problem

Because they withdraw the canopies - it may be just the part that is constantly exposed to weather which needs scrubbing ( the bottom or front of canopy)

I found on a different shop that all the work was at the bottom - which is good cos you can step ladder and hand scrub - I'm doing them every 3 months now to keep in top

The proper stuff for canopies is winsol but Ubik works like on most things!

I did metal sign with Solvent cleaner by hand seemed to bring it up nice

But I priced it all up first - four shops

ill do that ,no i dont get free coffie but i get discount 20 percent i think i some times get free stuff them ice smovys an stuff in fact the glass is £7 per clean 1 clean a week we spend about £8 on coffie a week there :rofl:

When I worked for a large firm out of Wakefield we used to do all the Toby & Crown Carvery Pubs and premier inn hotels in four counties, anyhow, one day we pull up to a job at a Toby and at the same time another crew of three pull up to redo all the paving pointing in the beer garden, they ask where to get a cuppa as they been driving for two hours.

I ask the girl at the bar (remember we are all the well before opening) to put kettle on and she says 'NO'

I'm all like 'are you serious?'

And she is! Apparently the manager is such a tight arse (even though it's not his stock) that he counts the tea bags and marks the coffee jar to know how many have been sold!

So we all headed 30 minutes down the road to the next nearest cafe and had a full english, so their firm ended up getting billed around 5 hours of man hours all for the sake of a quids worth of tea bags!

Ironically almost all other pubs and Premiers we did would have buffet breakfast and practically force fed us to ensure we looked after them!
