iv started useing ecover the same way you do davey. i find that ecover looses its suds quite quick when put straight in to a bucket i used ot think it was the flash killing it but after not useing it made no diffrence.
I've used all manner of detergents from titan g4 to fairy liquid. If the g4 had a better glide then it would be hands down the best on the market. The wipe up is so quick. I used to use squeegee off aswell but I changed my work to wfp and didn't need to use it as often. I now just nip to b&q and grab hg window cleaning liquid. It's 3quid and u only need to use 2-3 teaspoons per 5l of water. Fairy is too suddy and leaves a film. Hope this helps.
I use ECover and a cap of white vinegar. I use a bucket in built up areas. But, the odd house I use a spray bottle. I find you get a better consistence on the glass. I find the spray and mop floor bottles good for this. They have good lids on them...
I mix 1 bottle of flash concentrate to 2 big bottles of ecover in my bucket and then pour back into the bottles
Keep an old washing up liquid bottle and you will have enough left over to fill it
That goes on my belt and i add a dollop on applicator as needed(dunk applicator in bucket and shake off then put a thin line accross both sides of applicator.. will do a house)
Leaving 2 litre bottles of ecover flash mix in the motor to refill bottle with as needed
If you want to mix a little to try i would use about an inch or inch and a half in a fairy size bottle and the rest ecover rather than use 2 whole bottles of ecover
