The frightening thing is @Iron Giant that there were quite a number of those Jags around when I was a teenager in Zambia.
Then in Rhodesia a friend of my wife's family had one. It just didn't seem that long ago. Time flies by so quickly.

The first time I saw one of those Rolls was in Salisbury, Southern Rhodesia. I was amazed at the size and luxury. Miners didn't own Rolls-Royce cars in Zambia.

I wondered what those number plates are valued at now? GF1 was valued at £375,000, now selling for 262,500 + VAT. Our house is valued at half that.

the thing is, he wouldn't have made it as a career if it wasn't for his wife, like they all do she pushed and pushed and managed george to become what he was.he was never happy although he made a ridiculous amount of money from films and shows etc,at the top of his game he was on £100,000 a year whereas bank managers etc were on £1000,00 a year his wife gave him five bob a week pocket money (25 pence today). no wonder he went into window cleaning to make an honest bob.

I once watched chubby brown with my step dad. I remember asking why he had L & R on his boots. Once he started to answer I realised what a silly question this was… I feel exactly the same about this question

It must have been boom times for some driving around in Jags and Rolls-Royce cars they must have seemed very alien in Africa,

If my private number plate was worth more than 10k I'd sell it in a heartbeat
