I have a 650lt tank thats been sat in my garden for a few months, what is the best was to clean the inside of it, as its gone a bit green and black,

Also I get my new van on Friday, what is best to use, upright/lay down tank as I have both, I find the lay down tank is like being in a boat as you can feel the water moving about,

Hi,

When I cleaned out my 1000 litre tank, I used my garden hose with a power nozzle on the end, and a mop, and just mopped & rinsed all the dirt/grime out. Took about 15 minutes. Aslong as you have the bigger/wider lid hole at the top. Then just drain it all out and off you go.

Some use pressure washers and seem to come out fine too

I have cleaned all my tanks and water butts with bleach to kill everything then rinsed well with tapwater

Once done i give them a rinse with pure to get all the traces of tapwater out

I fitted out my new van a couple of weeks ago and put in a 400 lay flat tank. Can't stand it. Every time i touch the brakes I can hear the water smashing against the tank and like you say feels like being at sea when you stop at the lights. Ripped it all out Friday night and put an upright in like my old van. So much better in my opinion

Yes I think your right. I got a flat tank to give me more room. But like you say at the lights the van going back and fourth. I have a upright tank so I just put that in.

I've heard of people getting the ball pit balls and useing a soldering iron to make lots of holes in them which apparently helps. Also heard of people putting bubble wrap in tanks to stop movement. I didn't try as I had another issue as my pump was slightly higher than the outlet on the tank. Every time water got low I'd get air in the system after driving. Did my nut in

I have this problem. I now turn the tap off when driving if the water level is low.
