Guys have. 650ltr tank installed in the van, since I got it when it's filled it m leaks water, sorry it pishes out all over the top and side of the van from all the swashing back & forth, changed the seal for a new one there last week and still the same craic?

Any ideas, silly fix, is it filling too much? It's just extremely annoying!

I assume you are filling the tank to the very top, I only typically fill mine so its a few inches off the top then wrap a cloth around the lid as a safeguard incase of any spillage on my way to the first job of the day, you shouldn't be getting that much sloshing about unless you are flying around and braking harshly.

It has the built in shut off valve when I leave it and fill it over night so it dose fill it just to the top, maybe an inch or so from the top. No not driving mad but ramps roundabouts, turns, it's swashing about. I just wondered was I misssing something or is this the norm on lads vans.

Its the norm,  my wyedale upright tank has a raised threaded top so it sits a 2-3 inches above the top of the tank and thread is on the outside so less chance of any spillages , but my last tank which was a flat tank threaded into the top of tank and I had the odd spillage but I wasn't bothered as it was in the back of an L200 with a plastic liner so any water ran out under the tailgate when going up a hill.

Try running a thin smear of Petroleum Jelly around the seal and tightening the lid up. You will always get a small leak from the vent but the seal in the lid is a problem we found on son in law's van. The earlier seals were a round O Ring type where the lastest ones are square. What the seal does is 'lock' onto the rim of the tank, and as you tighten the lid further the seal stretches and causes the seal to arch up.

You could also try ordering a length of round Nitrile 70 Cord (Ebay) and replacing that square seal with a round one.  You would need to cut it to size and glue the ends together with Super Glue. I can't remember the diameter of the seal Wydale used but I will measure it later this morning and post back. I seem to think it was either 4 or 5mm.

Edit; I've measured the O Ring size and its 5mm diamt.

Another little tip to stop it splashing so much, is to lay a length of bubble wrap on top of the water.

Or, seal up the vent in the lid, drill a small hole in the lid and push a price of pole hose through it and seal with silicone.

This will let the tank ‘breath’ and not cause a vacuum, plus minimal chance of the water splashing up the pole hose ?
