Van insulation

Has anyone ever insulated the side panels of the van ect b4 been panelled or would it be pointless when the floor wouldn't be done, trying to keep the inside of the van frost free

I've always completely insulated my vans including the side panels since the really bad winters of 2009/2010 where most windys I knew couldn't work for 5 weeks. We don't seem to have cold winters much now though so it would only make a difference a day or two a year now.

I'd just chuck an electric frost guard in the back, but I charge the van every night so it's always connected to 240v.

The last bad winter we had, I put a 2500w household space heater in the back on full power all night. The next morning everything was still frozen except for about 2 foot round the heater. The heat was just going straight up and through the metal roof. That's when I decided to insulate it

1 inch 8' x 4' polystyrene about £6 cheap but works great. I put it on the sides, floor, bulkhead, doors and roof with spray adhesive to temporarily hold it in place then fiber glassed over it all. Then painted over everything with rubber paint.
