I have a 1.6, the slightly older dispatch. It’s pretty rapid. Same as you, about to replace vans. Biggest thing people seem concerned with is the payload on the 1.5 is only a tonne. It’s 1.4 tonne on the 2 litre version.

i dident know that i thought they were all the same payload i had my eye on the vw transporter 2.0l not sure what there like these days ive been realy happy with my vivaros 2.0l and now 1.6 i saw they still do the older biger shape ones but with the 2.0l havent a clue if its the m9r or the new 2.0l ?

I’ve no idea, I only recently found out about the payloads to be fair. I was about to merrily buy two 1.5’s and likely regret the decision later on. I do love my transporter. I’ve got a Kombi though. Couldn’t find anywhere to install a crash tested window cleaning system in one. They said there is too much going on underneath. They struggle with panel vans so a kombi with limited space to bolt to is a big no go.

If you want a genuine VW Transporter, you had better hurry before they become rebadged Transit Customs. I wonder if they will have Ford's engine with wet belts?
