Water marks ?

I would agree with that..oxidisation of paint or upvc leaves a chalky residue if not scrubbed off and rinsed firstIt's just the fact white seals were mentioned that made me think

I don't know what is different about them but i have had problems from them

Just reminded me of the scrimming days when the powder from the frames used to smear across the bloody glass in summer.

Today yet again on another house with white wooden frames it looks like the same thing is happening.I did take a dry scrim and wipe around the frame with a bit of pressure and there was some white come off ?

Yeah it's the paint. The gloss has failed (reached the end of its life) so you'll get that every time until they've been freshly painted. Either squeegee them or don't bother cos you'll spend more time doing them over and over to no avail.

Im using a unger pole and the brush seems not stiff enough like it ain't got no scrub power.Whats a good brush to use for Windows ? Also thinking about getting the gardiner clx-22 pole with maybe the medium mixed brush ?

Hi all Just had a customer point out some marks after I asked them to check. There was white water marks at the top and bottom of each pain.I cleaned the frames then scrubbed the glass then rinsed off.I noticed after close inspection some windows had a kind of tacky white seal around them but others didn't. I thought it may be this or paint from the frame ?? it wasn't the water as other different windows were ok .This is only the second time they have been cleaned with pure was doing them trad before maybe soap ?

they can be tricky most are fine tho, i usly clean them well ill do all the tops then go bk to the first then clean the windows avoiding the vents if they are still driping ill rap a scrim round the brush and dry them dont have to do that often tho!,then on the next clean 7 weeks later or wat ever the frequenc u do ill turn water off then swipe the top vent with the wet brush and then just clean the window as normal as it will be allmost clean any way that way u dont have to werry about runs and its quicker i also do that on realy bad windows were u get runs from the top rubber wich is quickler on some jobs its just a case of lurning ur houses as there all different types of windows hope that helps

i've got the same problem! it always seems to be the first or second window i clean. one house i rinsed like mad just the glass but its everywhere. Am i scrubbing too hard? any glass cleaning chemicals that would remove the white chalky marks?
