Rememeber to follow googles rules, they have just changed them so if your site isnt.mobile/tablet.friendly they dont index you, also remeber not to have double content they punish you for that too.

And ton more..

Personally i.made.my own site in wordpress and have done none since and i an top of page one on all related areas, and i have gotn a good flow og worl throught it.

Mobile friendly is a must - that change is almost a year ago now & many businesses still haven't caught up,..

I'd 2nd Jacob - Wordpress is a brilliant system - its all I use these days & I wouldn't recommend anything else.

Another tool I think is very valuable is a quote form that adds ppl to a mailchimp list - - you get to build a list of ppl very local to you who are specifically looking for your services - and a simple newsletter each month with a special offer could turn ppl who are on the fence into regular customers - or even upsell add-on services to existing customers.

I'm not too sure but if you look at the rankings off the same computer it shows the same place as when you first looked. That's why I asked you to google me.

Nah mate mine was on page 3 yesterday and 2 for solar panels but gone today I'm not bothering with Solar panels I'm warm enough.

Are you going to stay with them at £6 a month?

If so get them to specify a certain area like castle Bromwich, or the vale. You may get more chance of being on the first page there.

They're just charging me that until May as a goodwill gesture web.com is a big website specialist I get 45 mins a month telephone support I've got this guys direct number he's called Dan and he's been working hard for me and built a new website today for me. He said I shouldn't cancel as I'm getting up there and it was on page 3 yesterday and that was just window cleaners Birmingham I've given him a load of keywords now including districts and type of work, I can and have edited my 1st website I did a nice little description on Solar Panel cleaning, looked alright to me anyway there was no upfront cost but it's £30 a month I don't care how much it is as long as it's worth it by returning the cost in jobs. www.dialawindowwash.co.uk

You can try. Just googled window cleaners Birmingham, Hydros on page 2 and I got to page 8 but you weren't there.

Googled W/C castle Bromwich and it looked like two local companies.

 
It was there yesterday then it vanished you've got to clear browsing history and cache but I did that so don't know:confused: That Roger Needle is everywhere:(

 
A good website will bring you in money. I created my own not from wordpress but from hand typing in codes but is very long winded. Must have brought me in around £10k worth of work but passed 80% of it on as no longer do window cleaning. I had to switch it off as was getting a pain with phone calls so I would say it is worth it if done right. Too many people in this market now with package websites but if you can find someone that creates it from codes then worth a weight in gold. I taught my daughter how to do it and she could have made a fortune but decided she wanted to work with animals.

Yellow Pages etc.. are no longer used so a good website is well worth it. The key is not typing in window cleaner but get found by other phrases.

 
For anyone checking their site rankings - its impossible to get an accurate reading by simply searching for yourself or getting a mate to do it - search results are tailored based on your location, search history, browsing history, iP address, language used etc etc,... even a brand new machine in one part of the country will show different results to a brand new computer 300 miles away!

Instead, use a tool like this: GOOGLE POSITION CHECKER » Google keyword ranking checker.

Or even better, signup for Google webmaster tools and get the info direct from the source.

Any changes you make to your site cant take weeks to reflect in your rankings - Google is very slow to update its index, so don't check your rank daily - look for trends over a number of weeks and months.

The Google Keyword planner helps you research what terms are being searched in your area too. If you can find a term related to your business that has a lot of searches but little competition you should make it a prime target of your SEO...

Why "window wash" I would not think it is a sort after search word. You need to change that to window cleaner

It's the business name. I think it's very good some businesses are named after the owner don't understand your point?

 
Will a potential customer be searching for your business name though?

Most likely they've never heard of you and will be searching for a generic service,... by targeting your company name as an SEO keyword you can in a small way be limiting your websites visibility to people who already know about you & not new customers.
