You are to be applauded for giving up the ****, well done. But you also need to watch the calorie intake or you will end up like me.?

ha im lucky like that, but yep, healthy eating can be just as good as not smoking for body and mind.

Don't worry about the calories in the first month. Get through that first 30 days and then start to get yourself back to normal. I've put on a stone since giving up, i'll loose that in the next couple of months when all the FSG and conny roof cleans start.

Its 31 days today. Was a big test last night out having some beers. Thing is, im convinced not smoking has mental benefits as well as physical. It takes you back to those days you were young before you started. And I always remember what the physio said to me when I had a steel implant in my wrist after an accident years ago. I gave up then for a while but stupidly started again. He said the smoking affects every cell in the body, so its gonna mess up your mind as well as body and wallet.

Dude I started when I was 13... Don't remember what I had for breakfast never mind when I was young ?

I had some real vivid dreams in the first few weeks. On that new years resolutions post some of the other lads said they had the same. Something about serotonin levels returning to normal

Yeh will have to read that, its interesting stuff. I'd messed a lot of my serotonin up big time in the 90s through that raving lark, wont go into details but you can guess. For ages I couldnt remember something someone had only just told me, couldnt keep a job etc. Was a right mess but so glad to have come through it ok. I try and tell the younger lot how they can achieve what they like etc, try and give them some motivation instead of wasting away on skunk weed etc.
