there is loads to learn about softwashing fence panels and you are correct sh can bleach the wood out but the art is to know the correct dilution rate also what to restore the would with after to bring it back to lifeLooks good with restorer. Did you pre wet the wood before soft washing it? Saw a video where the guy was saying about people just putting on softwashing chemical on, without pre wetting. The wood soaks in the bleach, which can seemingly damage the wood, turns it to pulp quicker, might look cleaner, but damages structure of wood fibre.. They use SH in the paper industry to turn wood to pulp.
So reason for pre wetting, is to allow wood to soak in water. So only the top layer is cleaned with SH, protecting the wood. Im no expert. Just trying to soak in the knowledge hopefully it's correct.
