Promoting your window cleaning business

Recommended Posts

Gav

After reading another post about promotion it made me think, and i am going to create a ongoing list of ways and places to promote.

This list will have the following structure

Online promotion

Offline promotion

Then links to places online and off to promote or get flyers etc....

So using this format below feel free to reply with your ideas and ways your promote, i will then slowly add your ideas to this post and remove your replies as i add them. We will then have a very useful promotion guide and list for all our members.

Online promotion

Offline promotion

Links, contact to services on and offline

==============================================

Below is the actual post and is going to be added to over time.

Direct Marketing

Telemarketing, call round local business and large commercials

canvassing door to door (Many feel this is the best way)

putting out flyers

putting out business cards (some say you get better response over flyers)

referral promotions

Indirect Marketing

Online Advertising

google ads

Yellow Pages

google places

Business Website

Submit your website to search engines (Don't do more than once or twice as search engines don't like you resubmitting over and over)

Business listings websites/ Local directories

Window cleaning directories

Getting your name out there

Vehicle wrapping

Logos printed on t-shirts

leaving business cards in local shops and takeaways etc

Advertising in the local paper

Getting printed sickers for puting on close doors

A4 laminated signs on fences and posts

Cross marketing with other local tradesmen, giving your business cards to pressure washers, gardeners, joiners etc

Logos and contact info on all your stationary - the easier it is for your customers to find your number, the easier it is for them to recommend you.

Buying work

Have a look on websites, like http://www.windowcleaningroundforsale.co.uk

Get to know other window cleaners, give them a call now and then, and ask if they are looking to sell any rounds.

Where to get?

Printed work wear

website hosting

This might help. As I am new to this forum - not sure if am allowed posting links here as this would be form of advertising.

For flyers the cheapest by far is fairprintleaflets on ebay 6 working days lead time or if you need some very quick under 48 hours solopress is the place to go but it come at the cost.

Yep hopefully we can build quite a nice comprehensive list.

Gav - we produced a guide recently about online marketing for small business owners. I'd be happy to post it somewhere if I can put a cheeky little link in there?

Awesome thread! Has helped me loads.

Just something a lady working for us suggested which has brought in a nice amount of work and got our name about for costing peanuts. We contacted our local primary schools who produce a newsletter every term, some produce this in print only some print and email format. Most schools will charge less then £10 for the year one charged us £6. We got to put our logo and what services we offer. Nice cheap way to advertise!

That's good value. As a comparison, I ordered 5000 from VistaPrint that cost over £400!

I've actually just approached a few letting agents today, I asked if I could put a little bit of my literature in there welcome packs, they were more than happy I showed them my insurance, my CRB check ( had it anyway from my old job), health and safety policy.

So now to do a little pack, flyer and business card and then see how it goes.

Hopefully get something out of it I'll keep you posted.

Worth a try guys it's free.
