2011 transit LWB 33 to 38 mpg. Massive van. have rear seats, rear aircon/heater dog cage and my wfp gear/ tank etc. Love it. Shame new ones look shite and customs are rubbish. may try Toyota next time. Need 3 front seats though

Primastar dci115 swb, 33mpg with 750kg in it.

Navara 2.5dci 32mpg with 350l water and gear in it, will pull anything anywhere.

2003 Fiat Scudo 2 litre

139,000 miles on the clock and still going strong!

Roughly 45mpg and can get 600 miles out of the tank. Happily pulls my WFP equipment and 750 litre tank. Electrics aren't perfect but hey its 13 years old now ☺ love it though!

I got a transit connect. 81k on it and 10 years old. My first ever van and only had 3 months so can't really comment on how reliable it is. Engine sounds good though and starts first time every time. Pulls well with all my wfp gear and 350 litre tank full.

Mpg not to sure on.

Probably cursed it now and it won't start tomorrow.

New Ford Courier with a 1 litre petrol eco boost. Just coming up to one year old. 8000 miles and getting aprox 36 to the gallon. A lot of stop start. On trad work. Very pleased with the van. Not to high to put the ladders on.

I've just (last couple of months) bought my first van a Connect 05 model with similar mileage to yours and I love it. I was running a 350l trailer, pulled by a 15 year old Zafira (now deceased). The Connect has a 500l tank and pulls (and stops) great. My ideal van though would be a Toyota Hiace with 3 seats but the wife thought it a bit big (and costly) so I got the Connect instead. She's the boss!

sounds like u had the dreded oil pick up feed pipe blockege hence the turbo issue i fiel ur pain m8

Yes the mechanic said it was all the carbon build up, it was cursed from the day I bought it , 5 mins down the road I stopped for diesel and went to get back in and it wouldn't start, it bumped ok and ended up being it needed a new earth. The black smoke started and I got the egr valve cleaned and it was still smoking then the turbo went , then it went again and then again the same road as the first time lol. Absolute nightmare ! Got it sold the other week there and was scared to even drive the thing home incase it went again. Worst about it was I spent a fortune along with getting it fixed the first time by getting a new timing kit and water pump and new tyres. Had a new oil pump as well , I just lost faith in it so good luck to the buyer /emoticons/biggrin.png

04 plate 2.0 hdi Citroen Relay SWB 650 liter tank 2 man system.

Bought it 7 years ago with 33k on the clock, now has 57k.

Normal routine maintenance including 6 tyres.

Had has had common Fiat issues of flaking/peeling paint on the roof, bonnet and front fenders. The rear springs are single mono leaf and one broke. They were replaced by a heavy duty spring conversion supplied to the motor home converters. Now the van sits level with a full tank of water. The rear suspension is still stiff, even although the springs were changed about 5 years ago.

Had offside front wheel bearing replaced 3 times. I then replaced the whole front hub and the problem has been solved.

Rear wheel brake cylinders are a know issue as they seize. Both have been replaced along with brake shoes, front discs and pads.

The heater matrix has been replaced twice. Its replacement entails the dash to be completely removed. The second was a purpose built heater unit rather than the press fit unit that is supplied as OE. No leaking issues since. Had a new battery and did cambelt, tensioners, water pump and serpentine belt last year.

Recently had my 'eyes' taken out by Citroen to put it onto Lexia (Citroen's code reader) to identify a lack of power. Turned out to be MAF sensor - £119 + VAT for the part.

The van is big enough for the 2 of us although the rear doors can become rather 'crowded' when both of us get back at the same time. However, anything bigger won't solve that issue.

Fuel consumption is usually between 26 and 28 MPG. It has been as low as 22 MPG when it was filled with Morrison's diesel. ( I no longer use Morrison's for fuel as I experienced poor MPG each time I used their fuel.)
