The difference with you and all the rest is you have been in business a long time and understand the cycles a business, owner and customer goes through. Until one has experienced it and felt the pain and rush of emotions, others will fail to change. The more experience means one realises its all about Karma and building relationships. You understand this all too well.At the end of the day it's common decency to say to a long standing customer I need to put your price up x amount rather then just dump them for bigger bucks.
If they decline then fair enough but not to give them the option is not something I would ever do.
