Went Burger King tonight ?£28 for too of us ?‍♂️ Is it me being titefisted or does that sound bit pricey fish and chips £15 ??‍♂️

Everything is going up and in some cases, a lot more than others some people already realise this on small things but the prices of some stuff have shot up and it all adds up, people are worried about being dropped by customers as we go into the winter on discontent but people will be dropping the takeaways first and cutting back on everyday stuff first that's already ready evident when Sainsbury profits are down and they are giving £18 off a £60 shop when you order online for the first time,

why would any supermarket need to do this when supermarkets always win through tough times those well-heeled customers you think you have that you think ain't short of money well they are going to be with rising costs and interest rates those big mortgages are going to hit them where it hurts and they'll be off shopping in Aldi and driving past Burger King as they'll need to cook their own food.

I had to get some Screwfix No Nonsense decking oil this week and its gone up from £22 to £35 since couple of months ago

We are now quoting jobs and telling customers if material costs go up between quoting and doing the job the price will be passed on to them all have been fine with that . We went from paying £12 a drum for hypo up to £36 , it’s now come down again but is still dearer at £23 a drum . Virosol has also gone up as have most of the things we use .

I bought 25 tubs of degreaser for £5.99 years ago because I didn't think it could get any cheaper. Its now £11.99 so its doubled in price. I knew everything was too cheap so spent all my profits on equipment. Makes perfect sense now because I can charge more for my service and use all my stuff. With the world printing Trillions more currency means only one thing, the old currency has been diluted, meaning it holds less value. This means everything must rise in monetary value to keep pace. People don't like it but not much one can do bar use less and cut costs. Pensions will rise by inflation which is around 10% but fixed mortgages will stay the same so the banks have came out with another instrument to play the customers for more money, 30 year mortgage.

Let's get real here, we have people claiming to work for £100+ an hour but the material costs, which are 10% of the cost, have gone up 50%, are now prohibitive :ROFLMAO:
It’s not prohibitive but it all eats into the profits , if fuel prices go up your shopping in the supermarket will go up each week why shouldn’t we pass on some or most of the extra costs

That's a different cost, if your hourly rate needs to go up because your cost of living goes up then fair enough. However don't complain about your material costs have gone up less than 5% of your costs and all of a sudden you're going to struggle. Sometimes people need to actually realise what's going on and act accordingly.

I just took the missus to miller and carter for dinner and cost me £70
In this job I don’t understand anyone struggling for money
Just get out there and work and you will be better off than a lot of people in normal jobs
If not earning enough get new/better paying customers and don’t stop knocking doors etc until you have them

Diesel has went from £1.04 to nearly £2 a litre now. Mechanics are very busy and have upped their hourly rate. We on the other hand have to do the same. I lost one customer near me but after a few months they have taken me back again. They realise there was alot of scare tactics out there regarding fuel bills. The cleaning industry is still growing as far as I can see it or I would be gaining new customers. Yesterday I got a call from someone in a tenement and now she is going to contact the rest in the building about me cleaning everyone's windows. I would be asking £13 a month or a score every 2 months. This could be a good earner and even better if I get the close to clean inside, might offer them a package.?

I can get by with products doubling in price. But every week everything is creeping up and up and it seems like no end to it.. Makes it very hard to assess the situation. So although we put up our customers prices up ideally we will need to continue to increase and I don't really want to do that again the first quarter next year but may have to keep up with the rising costs... Just wish prices would plateau so we are on level playing ground...

I have the best answer to that, get faster. Micro analyse what is taking the time and can easily be cut by using a different procedure. It might be clearing the sills on a conny with a wet rag before using the brush or you use the brush and all you do is spread the dirt from the sills all over the place. Never forget to leave front door gleaming because its the first thing the customer notices. If they come in and she it then this puts them in a good mood to begin with. The one window I always give more time to is their Kitchen window. Customers usually spend more time looking through this window especially if a sink is under it. Hard jobs and ones you could do without can be done quickly and if they drop you then its a win win result. I usually find they won't drop you because no one else wants to clean them. Bad payers get move on to DD or SO and if they will not comply then they get dropped immediately. There is some tips to get you thinking about and put in place. Last one I do is regarding lunch. I buy it the day before or make it up and bring it with me at start of day. This saves precious time waiting in queues or trying to find a place. I have a kettle in van and Power Station so I can make a pot noodle. I make it before I clean a massive bungalow and when I finish it is ready to eat.

I can easily swallow the material price our hourly rates are very good just finished a price rise for every single job we do , but if you continue to do that without acting your profits will decrease week on week month on month , the fuel price increase is still costing us all a lot more than before diesel is still well over £1.85 per ltr ware it was less than £1.50 not long ago . By passing the materials price increase on to our customers we are doing exactly the same as all other service providers,

But you said you're now quoting customers and warning them if your material costs go up they will be charged extra. So are you going to tell Mrs Jones that because your Hypo has gone up from £3 for the job to £5 now you're going to have to charge her another £2 on the £300 job :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

That’s what the supermarkets do so why not , and it’s not £2 the price has doubled and was treble at one point, an avarage increase per job of approx £36-50 would you be happy covering that every day of the week ? That’s between £180- 250 per week increase which ime not prepared to pay for .
