lol i know im one of them but if i can get it for 15 i will. i learn a lesson this week. i got told by a new customer i went to quote that another rival cleaner offered her it for 12 quid. i was desperate for that job as it was in an estate where i wasnt cleaning yet and needed to get my foot in the door and my signwritten vehicle noticed. i had to say 12 and she said the other guy would be better unless i was cheaper. had to come down to 11 but i landed then job. at the end of it i got fiscia and gutter cleaning and she said her neighbours might be interested as those rival cleaners went there to quote. at this rate ( fingers crossed ) ill get the whole street. she sent me a msg on facebook last night asking what id do if i got her customers. i said get me six customers ill give you a sainsburys voucher for 25 quid.

I'm currently canvassing to build my round up, always seem to get some customers. I think wearing your gear when walking up the drive makes a difference. It puts the idea in the customers head before you even knock the door. If your walking up somebody's driveway and look like your about to pitch them, they'll already have 'no Thankyou' in their head. If you have your belt and tools on they don't feel threatened cuz your only a window cleaner. And try to get into conversation with them too, if the neighbours see you both talking and smiling it eases their mind lol. No one likes cald callers, i dont even answer sometimes lol. I went Thursday a picked up 5 customers in an hour, all within sight of each other. I cleaned them yesterday and a neighbour came out to ask me to do hers and she said no the previous day. Happy hunting!

Certainetly one way to get work to go toe to toe with the opposition after speaking to a lot of established windies have noted that for every idea some one has of gaining work from another windy the established windy has an armoury of defensive ploys to regain or protect his/her round ranging from clever strategies to just following down back alleys and thumping the competition one guy in our area pulled another windys ladders away while he was up em got done in court but as repeatedly said he will do it again just weigh up the competitor before you go toe to toe with em
Most of them are cowboys about here, most are on benefits too or are doing something illegal. They would be worse of if they started anything like that /emoticons/wink.png

I enjoy the small perk of doing everything by the book
