No had a full garden to do today sat in house again.

im thinking about going into buying and selling im sick of this **** lol

 
anything mate ive solt half my belongings this year,ive made 1 months wage since december 2012,due to the weather and lack of work.depressing isnt the word!!

if it wasnt for ebay we would have never eaten.

 
Weather not to bad today but I'm hung-over from last night so feeling not so good.

as you know im a landscaper and for some reason everyone thinks work stops in winter i was busy upto mid dec then not one phone call for 10 weeks!!gone threw all my winter money i had a side and had to borrow leaving me in £800 debt before this season as even got under way my window round is worth nothing and hasnt built up in over a year and i could not claim or get any help.
leaving me to sell half my stuff ect for us just to eat as you know one wage isnt enuff these days and i have mouths to feed.all the bills comming out and nothing comming in for weeks on end.

there is work out there but there all messers who want jobs doing for nothing i even dropped my day rate to £80 a day and still nothing,im advertised all over there is just nothing happening.

most my work is based on maintenance garss cuts,tree work and hedge reduction so come the summer should be ok but got loads of catching up to do with money and need to get at least 4-5k in savings before winter.

i applied for loads of jobs even packing meat on a weekend got nothing cant get garden work with a firm as they see me as poaching.

my last resort is working on the doors dont want to do this but needs must.

Keep you head up and keep at it,never give up.

 
Think you need to diversify AK into other lines of services aswell as landscaping work as sounds like window cleaning is not working out for you.

Maybe do what I do and rather than targeting regular window cleaning is offer a range of ad-hoc exterior cleaning services instead. I found out people prefer to get all the work done in one go using just one firm that specialises in that sort of work.

For example I just received a phone call for a quote for full exterior deep clean on a property including clearing gutters also deep cleaning a conservatory roof & sides.

Not seen the house yet but estimate it to be worth approx as follows:

To clear gutters - £65

To deep clean Gutters, Fascia, Soffits & Cladding £65

To deep clean conservatory £75 (roof) £30 (sides)

To deep clean house window frames, sills, doors and glazing £45

Total £275

I usually offer a same day discount of about £20 so Job is now worth approx £255 for 5-6 hours work.

Then whilst cleaning during tea breaks & chatting I take time building a relationship with the customer which is very important to do. I also make sure they are aware of my driveway & patio & decking cleaning services too.

I always take before & after pics of the work I do and ask customers for feedback also ask for help in gaining me more work. Most if not all are glad to help out by recommending me to others and having work done on their home thereafter at least every 1-2 years.

Anyone can do cleaning to be honest but I focus more on up selling the quality of work I do that gains me more work rather than offering cheap prices. /emoticons/smile.png

you are rite the window round for me isnt working ill keep what i have and start to offer one of deep cleans as you say may be better idea as i come across so many people who dont want a regular window cleaner.
i offer a wide range as it is really,dont know what else to offer lol i do gardens property work pointing,windows gutters painting jet washing what more is there lol.

i honestly almost folded it all up ive spent half the winter on diazapan due to stress and relationship stress due to income worries.

it dosent help when a working man hits a spot of trouble and he can get no help after all the taxs hes paid ect.

yet you can come here not speak english and get everything ive seen it with my own eyes.

check this out gave a woman a quote this week 9 windows and a conny i said £12 or £24 one off clean not a single reply back!!this is what im up against

 
I feel for you AK as so many young families are struggling just to make ends meet. How come you are not entitled to any assistance like low income support?

feel ya pain I was in the same boat last year, all that will happen is you will end up sounding like a whinging moaning lil girl(sorry but true)
1 Canvas till you can't walk no more on evening.

2 Pay a canvasser to get you work, live on beans and eggs till you build ya round up any profit recycle again using the canvasser to get more work

it can be done fella! frustration levels are done for me now, Haven't punched me van for ages lol

yer its not easy,i tried to claim jobseekers they told me im seasonaly employed and what i earnt over the the last year they said it exceeded jobseekers allowance!!dosent any job exceed that shower of ****?
they class me as having a part time job even tho i havent basically what they mean is anyone who is self employed can not claim anymore,but they would admit this as i asked them and all they did was change the subject,this went on for months ignoring all my calls and having me sign every 2 wks for not a single penny i got nothing!!

i cant stand living here it stinks!!

they said i wasnt entitled to low income support as my mrs earns £10 above too much!!

i searched my problems on the net and loads of people have the same problem its a goverment cop out thats all it is,i was still paying NI and Tax yet canot claim a penny for a couple of hard months.

do you know these woman and fellas who work in arcades and stuff at the coast when the seasons over they have no job and they cant claim either?mental here there targeting the wrong people here.and its not on.

sorry to moan lads but there is no help for small business's.

im doing it now mate ive got work on now,going to look into a canvasing team later.i do feel like a girl :lol:
