I use simply business, found them decent, if I recommend you Steve, we both get £25 cheque sent to our door!! So let me know if you want to do that!!

That's interesting, do you find a lot of guys without insurance then @daveyboy1? Obviously coming from a (more than) slightly biased viewpoint, but that seems like a recipe for disaster!

I think the important thing to note on window cleaning policies is that some cover you for the property you are working on, and some don't.

@Simply Business It would be good to know if you could do a like for like quote for one million pounds Public Liability Insurance cover as below that includes the identical cover I get with Hiscox (gleaming insurance)

I had so much hassle in trying to get quotes to cover what services I wanted included from other brokers it was unreal.

Simply business - I waa without insurance for 8 years until finally went with you,

Never had a problem - glad I'm covered now though!

I'm sure there are thousands of window cleaners without Insurance - I just don't know any of them - if I did, I'd retire and live off the £25 cheques !

Hi @Smurf thanks for the question. I've been checking this with one of our technical specialists to make sure I gave you an entirely correct answer! Like-for-like, unfortunately not! If you're after a policy that's going to cover you for what seems like every possible cleaning job in the world /emoticons/tongue.png we wouldn't be able to match that.

Our policies tend to be slightly more tailored to the individual and their business rather than a blanket cover. We find that a lot of guys will certainly do multiple trades/activities but rarely that many /emoticons/smile.png

Sorry I couldn't be more help! Do you get involved in most of those types of cleaning then? Sounds very busy! /emoticons/smile.png

Haha precisely @Jake! 99/100 times you won't ever need your insurance, but it's that one time that can make it worthwhile /emoticons/smile.png

Thanks for your honest answer as was the answer quite frankly I was expecting. Funny enough simply business I found was the most painful experience and a total waste of my time trying to get the cover I wanted....Others that I tried were not much better.

I don't find it unreasonable to have the correct cover in place so I'm insured properly for the services that I offer but obviously some insurance brokers do.

No problem, and sorry to hear it @Smurf - really do apologise for the bad experience. Absolutely, and it's vital that you do exactly that! You need to be covered for the entirety of your services.

Can you remember what activity/activities it was that was a sticky point? Would be interesting to feedback to our product team /emoticons/smile.png
