well insurence has got to do with ladders if he chips the window with the ladder or falls off it and the ladder smashes though the window. does insurence comes to mind.

I think I've answered the questions rather well myself gav and was not intending to get into disagreements about other members opinions on ladder safety. Regarding ladders and there use common sense should prevail surely about how you go about your work so to help reduce the risk of hurting yourself?

Few questions about the photos-
Is the ladder ok? I mean it's leant against the guttering, won't it break it?

The sill cloths are in jaws which I use to wipe down stuff after I have been over them with a sponge, I usually wrap three of these cloths together then put them in the jaws and put a smithering of water, is that right?
