Sofwashing Balcony wall

Hi all,

Pictured is an apartment balcony which has a wall around its perimeter. As you can see it has some algae which has built up on the surface.

It is at the top of a block of apartments, meaning that any chemicals applied may flow down onto below apartments. There is also the composite decking which may be affected by chemical applications on the wall.

Is it sensible to use a Softwash mix on this? I was thinking if I did, I would apply it carefully on the surface and perhaps use an old squeegee to blade it off once its worked its magic (mainly because that way I can control where the chemicals end up)

I'd love to pressure wash it but I think with the balconies below it wouldn't be very courteous.

Another option would be a degreaser with a stiff brush and gloves on. Scrub it and blade it off, then let the all the rain we've been having finish the job. The lady has also asked about pressure washing the composite planks. Would a softwash solution be a good way to clean composite decking?

Jobs like this are very awkward from my experience it’s best to walk away so many potential issues here , I would focus on easier work that doesn’t carry this type of risk .

Yeah I agree woth Paul; ( I usually do actually) - lot of potential grief and probably not that much money in it either, but even if lucrative is it worth the risks?
There are gel products available that can be brushed or rolled on but still need rinsing e.g. Totnado Cleanze. I'd need to see it in person to decide for sure but if you're not comfortable tell her so. Some jobs just have to be walked away from.
R.E. composite decking - if mouldy / algae stains you could use a weak bleach solution or even soapy water , rinse and pressure wash but there are multiple products available for composite and OSMO is 1 of the btands that specialise in them, and OWATROL but others too. Worth researching a bit to find what suits you and at the right price

Totally agree but your pricing is very low need to be charging many times that .
