am i right in thinking if anyone wants to pay you via bacs, all you need to do is give them an account number and sort code + name on account.

then bingo it transfers straight into your bank as online banking.

Make sure they put their address as the reference , nothing worse than getting paid but not having the foggiest who's paid you

yes but dont do what frank did and get the numbers the wrong way around on the account...that is very important...

but its all very well ....IF THEY REMEMBER TO DO IT...Hmmmmm

Yes can be a pain chasing them.....still beats collecting...just

i do paypal for some its simple but they take a % /emoticons/sad.png
But here's the thing Peter, the small percentage they take is less than the cost of the fuel and your time.

We have spent the past month explaining to customers that it literally doubles the cost of the job to have to go back and do a collection at a later date. We have a few that pay by BACS but we already have more paying by GoCardless and even more than that paying by Paypal. The key is to Paypal is to collect customers email addresses then each evening when the job is done you can email them an invoice requesting payment so you get to remind them to pay.

We also have a paypal card machine to take card payments on the spot.

If they wont use GoCardless or Paypal, they have to leave payment in an agreed place, under the mat, flower pot etc.

What makes the cash being there work for us is we text all customers the night before to remind them we are coming and to leave the gates open and payment.

Previously we had to do 3 nights a week collecting, now it's one if we feel like it.

I also have registered with my bank for mobile payments. My mobile number is linked to my bank account. So if someone is registered with their bank for online mobile payments and have the 'app' they can transfer the money directly to you using just your mobile number.

Don't ask me how it works, but it does. I get an immediate/instant text to advise who has paid into my account and how much. Its brilliant.
