Merlin RO

WCF

Help Support WCF:

I don't know your specific RO I am afraid, but most have a tap or something somewhere to flush the filters, this will use loads of water.

Merlin r/o's don't have a flush facility.

What you could do is fit an inline gate valve onto the waste pipe and throttle it back a bit and see how the Merlin performs. If memory serves me the older Merlin is preset to around 5 waste to 1 pure. You could try 2 waste to 1 pure or even 1 to 1. Please don't close the tap completely.

Just been trying it, works much better, tried all different restrictions and found a happy medium.Big thank you

Thanks for the feed back.

A local fellow windie has an old type Merlin and this is what he has done. His is working well with a 1 to 1 waste to pure ratio which is similar to what I've set my 4040 at. We have a tap water tds of between 90 and 120. He has also fitted an inline sediment filter before the r/o as Merlins rely on the carbon block prefilter to remove sediment as well. Whilst there is nothing wrong with that concept, its just that our water is full of sediment on occasion.
