I put an add on a local Facebook page yesterday. Looking to employ someone two days a week. I got a lot of responses. Most were easy to weed out. Hi interested in the job??? Got that so many times. By email and text. Don't they teach people how to apply for a job during 18 years of education?

Interviewing 5 over the next few days. All sent proper introduction email or text. Hi my name is I saw your add, please find a copy of my cv attached. Taking one I did a phone interview with out for a days try out next week. Really can't believe anyone could expect a response from Hi interested in the job??? .

it was a face book page. they were just speaking to you as you were on facebook.

i advertised on jobsite Indeed.

i stated ,must have experience using WFP equipment & experience., i didnt have time to train someone up.

i got 28 replies in 2 days, 27 had never even cleaned a window before, they just apply to put down on there job search. THEY HAVE TO ,imagine having to show you have applied to 25-35 jobs every week. they have to or they may be sanctioned or have there dole money stopped.

It is so hard for decent people now who cannot find work.

BE glad we are not in that position

i was lucky to find a chap with experience, it was a god send after my Hernia opp.

i had my second reel out yesterday doing some bottoms, felt great

My step daughter put the add up for me. Oh and my wife turned into a Facebook stalker last night. Turns out they were right. You can gain a bit of an insight from someone's Facebook page. Putting faces to cvs was helpful. One seems far to obsessed with weed. Little things that you wouldn't pick up in an interview.

In the world of scaffolding you can get a job over the phone, tell them "I've been doing it X amount of years and ive got a ticket, I want this much per week"

When can you start.

Been a long time since I applied for a job, not even got a cv.

I think that's why window cleaning appealed to me so much, train yourself on YouTube and practice at home then off you go learning as your earning.

Facebook adverts are a joke.

I've advertised loads of times for leafletter or cavasser.

They cant even follow simple instructions. I put on mine please message me for more info if you are interested. I had about 8 replies not one had messaged me. mostly "eyup pal can I have a job" or "interested" almost all I have spoken to are flaky don't meet you when they say they will etc.

I would agree that FB is perhaps not the place to advertise.

It is however a good place to sus out those applying as you say.

Friend is looking for an employee at present. Interviewed a lad that seemed nice, said he'll let him know.

Checked out his FB page and the lad is bragging about having just gotten out on good behaviour. He was on a 5 for aggrivated burglary.

Just the sort you want at Granny Jones to do the windows.

Sadly i know a few windies..especially in london who wouldn't get an employed job due to their records

That's the only problem with this job as nobody knows the past of the guy they hire for the job

Not saying i have always been on the straight and narrow but customers would freak if they knew the background of some windies out there

One windy round here got done for kiddy fiddling, custies found out and he had to leave the area as they were all after him. Happened just before I started, picked up half his round, a few here have records, and a lot of potential custys will ask if you've been to prison and why.
