If you are only hitting £120 per day why you charging VAT? VAT threshold is currently around £82000 in any 12 month rolling period so you are no where near having to charge VAT.

This thread has got me thinking though.........

......why not have really high aspirations in a world where a London tube driver earns 50k per year minimum, a lawyer can easily earn £400 per hour and dont even get me started on footballers........who actually earn peanuts compared to F1 drivers, basketball & baseball players!

But point being - although we are 'only' window cleaners why not try and take a slice of that cake?

There are plenty of window cleaners taking a slice Alien you just don't really see them on here, they are too busy out there doing it.

I know one lad started as a windie some years ago, added other cleaning, some maintenance then property development now is worth over a £2m.

I know two others running well organised teams pulling high six figures.

There is no limit in this game, the only question is do you want to be a 'window cleaner' (as I am happy to be these days and earning a very comfortable living) or do you want to be a business owner along with all the stress and agro (and rewards) that it comes with?

I believe you had just about joined the forum when I was busy laying off crew and reducing my work load. You need to know what price you peace of mind is worth!

B= Stop making excuses, you got enough time to get out and do the work, weekends are for family, and instead of sitting on here (the forum) get on your email and facebook and such and start selling your a$$!

Your missus and kids will be more than happy with the extra benefits your graft provide.

It all depends on where in the country you work. Some of you have loads of houses at £10, I do fronts for £8-10

I personally disagree, I think the only thing limiting people is ambition.

Obviously geography will play some part but the only thing that limits anyone from success is their ambition.

By ambition I don't mean sitting home and ambitiously saying 'I want to be rich' I mean you gotta add the drive.

If you're limited by geography perhaps you need to consider a move.

All just opinion of course.

I wish i had the same rules as you mate but over here i have to charge vat if my total income is 5000£ (50000dkr) or above pr. Year.

I work on average 4 days a week (9 ish - 4:30 ish).

I have someone working with me.

We turnover an average of £430 a day between us.

I pay the guy who works with me £100 a day.

I have the work to be able to do this 52 weeks of the year, but we obviously have some time off during the year, so we are always a little bit behind.

It's taken me a number of years of refining to get to this point.

The guy who currently works with me is soon to become my first franchisee, and I have someone else lined up to work with me 4 days a week.

My goal is to carry on working 4 days a week myself and set one franchisee up every year for the next 10 years... Then work 3 days a week... Hopefully the kids would have left home by then to /emoticons/wink.png

I'm too lazy, I like to work as little as possible while still earning enough to do what we want to do as a family.

To me being able to spend more time with the kids is more important than having loads of money and no time.

Having said that I do seem to be working a hell of a lot lately and raking in the cash.......

I find that I can't turn work down. I could've had tomorrow off, but I'm doing one gutter clear and a gutter clear, plastic clean and one off window clean on another house. That money will go towards my next holly bob /emoticons/smile.png
