Any big customer loses?

Not loses but think I will dump a few customers. I do two houses next to each other and wait a while for one and the other is ill and it depends how she feels. I feel sorry for her but i have came to the conclusion i would be better not going near them.

No not at the moment , in fact enquiries are starting to increase again after being down quite considerably, theses new customers should be good ones as winter is approaching and prices of everything increasing so they know what to expect , also we have also picked up 6 softwashing jobs on houses again a bit strange at this time of year

I lost one a few weeks back that wanted eight weekly not four so I lost them. I was happy to lose them though as they were a bit remote. Pretty busy though.

We've had one cancel as she wasn't prepared to pay another £5 to go to 2 monthly from £15 - £20. Had one go to 2 monthly but think December will be a poor month, hope I'm wrong. We have however picked up a lot of commercial work so overall, currently, very happy.

i did a price increase not massive just ones that would be more in general the bigger houses had a few say can i have it bi monthly and one that said can i pay for it this month and have them done again in march sorry not viable time eaten when they will probably be filled eventually with monthly customers ?

If customers hold off from cleans and the situation levels itself would you retake them on or keep them off as knowingly when it gets tough they'll drop us again

If someone cancels on me and asks for me to start doing them again further down the line and I’ve never had any issues with them, then of course I take them back on. But when people start saying don’t come until March. They get well and truly pied.

We are the same as @Part Timer we have plenty of work so wouldn’t take them back on or do a longer frequency, if you are short of work then it might be worth doing at an increased price until you can get better customers, but march is 4 months away hopefully you will have been able to fill their slot by them

Cheers pjj yeah works great got a steady build of custys monthly that keeps things ticking nicely bill wise considering been only est 2yrs was worried the COL rises would kill alot off, rough with smooth an all that

Just one who texted not to be done again till new year and wished me a merry xmas. So will get back to her in January as asked and see if she still wants her windows done. If put off again will drop.

I've been putting up my prices these last few weeks so it's given them a chance to cancel (an excuse to cancel). So far 3 switched to 8 weeks, one cancelled and one I've rescued from cancelling.

It was a once every 4 weeks, upstairs one clean, downstairs the next, £20 each time but she normally had the downstairs done say three times then the upstairs, the downstairs has more glass. I tried to put it up to £25 but she said she wouldn't be able to afford it. I thought about it and said I could do it once every 8 weeks the whole lot in one go for £40. Saves me a little time and keeps the customer. She was very happy. I wasn't over the moon but better keep than lost as I still need the work, I'm not in a position to be losing customers.

All the rest seem to be ok so far though and I'm getting enquiries for all services still. Got fascia and soffit cleans booked in for Decemeber.

I wouldn't be too worried about the economy tanking, it's the opposite around me. I thought people spent a lot during the lockdown but the spending now seems even higher. Had one cancel yesterday due to a massive house renovation starting and had two others cancel due to house moves. Also seen lots of nice new cars on the drives of them, so money is being splashed about.

I think inflation is rocketing still, that 10% was from the last year, I'd say the last few months is probably more like 15% to 20%. I've been putting my prices up by 20% to 30% and the customers I've spoken to have accepted, not easy though. But after seeing £80k brand new cars on the drives of supposedly average people it's making me wonder whether it's enough.

My brother was telling me last night that he has been trying to find a good office chair, he said the prices of everything has rocketed, like it's hard to find a half decent one for less than £100. So the price of everything is rocketing and this can only mean that people have more money.

I definitely don’t think average joe has more money in their pocket. Things are just so accessible nowadays and what you can afford on paper with finance agreements normally differ in reality. But it appears to me that people aren’t tightening their belts despite, what we are being told and continue to just spend, spend, spend. Our mortgage will be going up a few hundred pounds a month in Mach and we are definitely seeing the reduction of money we have on a monthly basis because of this col rise. I think inflation is much higher than what they are telling us. Well done for getting your prices up. I need to do the same but thinking it’s a bad time now with Christmas and winter round the corner.
