Are window cleaners still allowed to work during Coronavirus (Covid-19)?

WCF

Help Support WCF:

The first trial is on 1500 people that are then going to be retested again, there's a few days. Then if it works they will be testing frontline staff, guesstimate 5 million. After these have been tested it will be made available to the public.

With the current lockdown how are the Police supposed to know who have been tested and passed?

I'm all for good news, it does have to be fact based as well though and all information, from around the world, indicates the fact that 3 weeks isn't enough time to resolve it.
Well in that case what you could do is go to the doctors if you get the all clear then be given a card to say that you’ve got the all clear with microchip the police then scan it you’re going to go to work

Or not b at work for a very long time it’s not gonna be practical

Non of this is in place, it might be in the future but will take months to implement. Currently there are far more important things to sort out. We all want to get back to work, I am currently, except holidays and a ruptured Achilles, off the longest I've ever been off work in nearly 40 years.

Totally unrelated, but just warning you guys that if you get a text saying you have been fined for leaving the house over two times, or a text from O2, DO NOT OPEN THE LINKS!
They are two of the most advanced scams going around at the moment that wipe out your accounts.

Having read through the posts I am now very confused. I wanted to find out what the majority of you were doing in England. Are you working or are you staying at home? Can we have a show of hands please.

South Yorkshire Police replied to my message:

"Hi Laurie. The police are using the same guidelines as are available to yourself on the gov.uk website. The government are only wanting people to leave their homes if it is absolutely necessary. It is not essential for people to have their windows cleaned. The government guidelines are temporary and have been implemented to keep people safe and ease the pressure on the NHS which will allow severely ill patients to receive the care they need. The more time you spend out of your house, the higher the risk of contracting Covid-19 is to yourself. It also increases the risk of you spreading it to other people (you may already be infected and not know as not everyone displays symptoms). The government have introduced financial support for self-employed people and we suggest that you explore these options instead of continuing to work for the time being."

It's a pretty clear stance. I pointed out the parts of GOV website that were confusing like:

"it is important for businesses to carry on"

and

"Work carried out in people’s homes, for example by tradespeople carrying out repairs and maintenance, can continue"

But they are still saying that only essential workers should be traveling.

At least that's pretty clear, so I'll be using that if, in a future date I get told that I should have been working.
Well you can send this one back to him then, the police enforce the law they don't legislate it, this is clear to me they want you to work.

Surprised I haven't had one I go out twice a day ? and before all the Warriors come out to play, my wife is working as healthcare worker she is coming home exhausted and stressed and we have our dog to exercise, if anyone has hotline to Doctor Dolittle to explain to my dog that he can only go out once a day no matter what please pm me

Also keep things civil right across the forum otherwise while I am sat at home bored I'll just dish out warnings for fun if some people don't reign in their attitude.

Send my thanks to Stuart (pub)...?

Boris gave the impression to begin with if we all stay in for 3 week we can go back to normal.

No chance of that happening at this rate.

I went to the park yeterday to get some fresh air and saw couples of joggers not keeping their distances and one of them spat on the floor.

?
Staying in is to prevent some avoidable transmissions so the NHS and crematorium don't get overwhelmed.

The situation will not be resolved by everyone staying home for three weeks, this virus will be around until there is a vaccine (at least a year away), it (virus) burns itself out or mutates to something less harmful or everyone gets it and recovers with the resulting immunity from having the antibodies (or they don't recover).

in two minds really. will get a bit of govt grant, but nowhere near enough as they will take my start up year income into account only,  which was minimal. so need to do something.

This is the government position, just a shane when the snake Boris made his speech on Monday he used the term "essential". That's the phrase everyone latched onto and gave the impression that only essential work was going to be allowed.

I've seen Facebook posts criticising builders, tree surgeons etc who clearly can't work from home. The wording of his speech is in contradiction to the new measures and there's zero chance that was by accident. Very low of our Tory masters.

Im gonna contact suffolk police and see their stance on it. Hopefully get a straight answer but dunno.

I’m undecided, will be checking what customers want me round and the ones that don’t I will respectfully avoid.

Im in a tricky postion now where I’ve found out my brother has been laid off so needs financial support, aswell as my own bills etc I need to continue paying.

This isn’t just as cut and dried as some on here will make you believe it is. There’s so many different factors at play here, everyone needs to be constructive and respectful to everyone’s circumstances.
