I think on the whole the issue we have or may have is 0.5% of the news and guidance says we can work if doing so safely, the other 99.5% is the media saying stay at home and save lives, I would guess those that aren't self-employed and generally the vast majority of the public are simply taking on the board the message of stay at home and save lives. One more question to this. We are all agreed we can work, but disagree on whether we should, I also have these same issues I am dealing with. But what will everyone do if government tell you money is stopping you must go back to work but people are still getting the virus and dying. At this point and it will come what will everyone do, I strongly suspect you will go back to work but do so in a manor that minimises risk to yourself and customers. If you are prepared to go back to work when support stops and government asks you to I do not see how that is different from working now when government are saying exactly that read the print.
If you can work while complying with self isolation rules then you should, in fact it is important for the economy that you do. Or something to that effect.
If you are over 70 or have serious health issues you should not leave your home, everyone else other than a very small percentage of people will survive this most with no ill effects. If people do as they are told you can not kill anyone. My mother is 76 and is not answering her door or leaving the house she will live I take her all her food clean packaging etc.
Just when I thought I couldn’t disagree with you more you pull this stunt... and then brag about it!!!I bought 2 of them from Amazon and they cost £8 each. After I gave them to an elderly customer and charged £16 he seemed okay with it as it was two weeks ago. Then a week later on my answer phone he was saying he was self-isolating and I ripped him off for £16 because you can get a box on Amazon for that price. I called him up and then I heard the real reason he was so angry and it was 0 to do with the masks. It was because he was told he could now Not visit his wife in a care home after being married 53yrs. Every day he went there and now he couldn't. That's the power of love, the world's most powerful emotion.
This is why the Gov has said what it has...go into hard and it can be counterproductive...we tend to see stuff right in front of us and see things as simplistic - which is often not the case at all - most things have unintended consequences ..but they have looked at the situ holistically covering all angles - hence why lockdown for masses and working sensibly to keep the wheels on the economyhttps://apple.news/AkzfT2euoTvqzPQR1WYsSVA
Italians starting to get impatient with the lockdown - social unrest is brewing
Your're splitting hairs. When GOV UK (@GOVUK) /Twitter says immediately after the PM's speech, is key workers only, confusion is spread. That was the point being made. When official government sources are changing their minds never mind the MP's you get chaos. The only source of information ithat hasn't changed is the Gov.uk site where it has always stated go to work only if you can't work from home.
The only thing they have changed is safe distancing. Now financial assistance has been given, to the majority, the decision to go out should be easier to the majority. Those with no financial assistance have a dilemma that I'm glad I haven't
This is the only conversation on here at the moment, it was just too mental to keep up with haha. I commented days ago and my phone has pinged with emails every 5 minutes ever since ?Who's got an on contract out on the virus ? , good to see you back I was going to pm you but forgot ?
Yeah I agree. That’s also why they’ve told us 3 weeks, just to ease us into the idea of lockdown. People wouldn’t be able to cope with the idea of 3 months straight off the batThis is why the Gov has said what it has...go into hard and it can be counterproductive...we tend to see stuff right in front of us and see things as simplistic - which is often not the case at all - most things have unintended consequences ..but they have looked at the situ holistically covering all angles - hence why lockdown for masses and working sensibly to keep the wheels on the economy
Very sorry I don't know how I can possibly be splitting hairs. If the Government wanted everyone to stop work they would change their guidance. There is even a TV advert that mentions only travel to work if you have to, it and the guidance, at no time mentions key workers only. I don't follow social media reports as they tend to be done by nutters that have their own agenda, I'll stick to the official guidance.Your're splitting hairs. Even if we do decide to go out, there is a growing chance that we will now get stopped by the Old Bill, as they seem to be everywhere at the moment down here. They wont listen to our reasoning because they all seem to have latched on to the, "is it essential work" part of the initial government advice (now seemingly dropped). If we try to argue our case we get warned, if we continue we can/will be fined. One more question to this. just laughing at the wee krankie bit. ? 'Fan dabby dohzee' wasnt it? ?Very sorry I don't know how I can possibly be splitting hairs. There is no chaos where I live, or anywhere else that I've seen so I don't understand why you should use that word. The vast majority of reports I've seen and read about, except last weekend and the very early part of the week, actually states how well people are following the guidance.
Your wee krankie got a bit mixed up and actually agreed with the UK Government and was probably criticised by the rabid Nationalists in your Government.
No idea what moldex is.@Dave B Is that the Moldex one - how do you get on with it? - I where glasses and was thinking of going the powered air full face mask route - so it would be less 'intrusive' - what would you recommend - or are you happy with Moldex?

Chaos is another word for confusion. So you've not noticed any confusion? For example on this forum maybe.Very sorry I don't know how I can possibly be splitting hairs. As far as I know there is no confusion, far more apt word to chaos, there are people that are preaching morality and there are people following the law. If anyone is confused please go to Gov.uk and the law, as it stands now, will be clarified.Chaos is another word for confusion. So you've not noticed any confusion? For example on this forum maybe.
They did change their guidance and that causes confusion. The official GOV.UK/ Twitter said for about an hour after the PMs speech that the only workers that could leave the home were Key Workers. The person/boffin typing the info out will not be making it up as they go along. They would be typing what they are told to from a government official. Key workers only is not a spelling mistake. So that brings up the question, why did they change their minds?
Here's said GOV UK. official guideline that was changed. It's confusing isn't it? Chaotic some might say

Yes agreed I also have done this and had 95% positive responses just old people with underlying conditions are concerned so totally understand otherwise all good to goSurely we’re all going to work until we’re told officially we can’t.? Obviously being extra safe.
I sent a mass email & text round this week. Just saying no internal cleans, bacs is preferred, and if anyone is showing symptoms & isolating let me know and I’ll re arrange for 2 weeks time etc. I haven’t had one cancellation at all yet. Well I had two (new driveway being done, and another house being painted)
Lucky, or just still a bit early yet?
It’s going to get worse before it’s gets better that’s for sure.
