Good afternoon,

I keep getting asked to clean roofs whilst Iโ€™m cleaning carpets. So Iโ€™m diversifying into roof cleaning also, with zero experience ๐Ÿ™„ ๐Ÿ˜‚

My question is what type of goose neck can I get that will fit / with Gardiner SLX 27 thatโ€™s compatible with skyscrapers?

Regards.

Don't underestimate how hard work roof scraping is. It will take you 2 to 3 times as long as you think and your arms will be killing.
As well as a pole and scraper blades you will need something to apply biocide with and PPE (biocide not good for your lungs), a way to empty the gutters of all the moss scraped off, brushes and shovels to clean up the ground afterwards, a tarpaulin helps. Hire a tower as working off ladders is way too dangerous. Don't underestimate how difficult it is swinging a 30ft pole about from a tower.

Have a look at Gutter Vacuum Systems I'm sure @GVS Julia Martin would help you with all the kit you need to scrape roofs.

I'm not trying to put you off but its quite an outlay and lots of physical effort but it can be lucrative.

To be honest the world and his wife are at it now even my lad tried it, thereโ€™s a skyscraper carbon pole used once sitting in my unit as he found the slx is a bit bendy, it looks like a piece of p!ss but you will graft to earn your money doing it.
PA training for biocide is a must
Fair bit of stuff needed tower etc blades for different tile profiles & itโ€™s very very messy moss going everywhere upsetting the neighbours ๐Ÿซฃ can see why the charges are high for doing this work

@Shane Neblett I was going to attempt roof scraping a few years ago, and quickly realised it was way beyond anything I'd physically be able to do. Not just the scraping, but the prep work, clearing all the scrapings that land in the gutter and floor, applying biocide after etc. If you look on YouTube at Sid Partridge's channel - Partridge Exterior Cleaning - he has become quite accomplished at roof cleaning over the last few years. Initially he did it off a ladder and then a scaffold tower as it's much less wear and tear on your arms than if you were standing on the ground. Most goosenecks in the middle have a round toothed section with a bolt through the middle and an adjustment lever that are compatible with with one another, so it should hopefully just be a case of undoing that middle part and attaching the part you want to. Good luck with it mate.
