I'm trying to find a way of filling my drums without having to hover over them waiting for them to fill.  It can take me 30 minutes to 1 hour to fill the drums and I'd like to sort something out where I set it going and then just leave it and when each drum is filled each one automatically shuts the water off for that drum.

Anybody got any ideas?

You could fill one and time it. Then set an alarm for when the others are filling and go back with 30 secs to spare if that makes sense

@Chris34 Good afternoon,

As previously mentioned make a T piece or interconnect your water containers and time how long they all take to fill.

Then buy a cheap electronic watering timer and it will switch off as they are full

Is it possible to filter your water into a holding tank, then transfer to barrels when you need it with a sump pump? I can fill 8x25l barrels in less than five minutes this way from my 400l storage tank. Only any good of course if you have space for a storage tank

What about filling a 200 litre water butt and then decanting into your containers?

In the early days I had 4 x 25 liter containers to fill and then fill the trailer tanks directly via the r/o. It was easier to start to fill the trailer tanks when I got home and then use the water in the tank to fill these containers. Then left the unit to fill the trailer tanks over night.

This is what I love about this forum, everybody is so helpful.  Cracking broad range of ideas here fellas, very much appreciated.

The storage tank idea is the one I'd like to go for but it will have to be further down the line as I don't know where I could put one, I do like the idea of using a wheelie bin though... genius : )

Think I'll look at using the water timer to be going on with until I sought out a storage system.
