Just starting my own round, but another window cleaner is in the area already any advice?

The other excuse is that they need to check with their husband or, occasionally, wife. Whilst this seems to be a genuine reason, I'm in two minds regarding this. If that potential customer asked for a price, I would say that getting a window cleaner was probably part of a discussion they had had earlier.

I don't have discussions with my wife about certain jobs as she thinks I make work up to spend money,

That’s not it. What happened was the other window cleaner challenged him to a duel. Said something about this town only being big enough for one of them. Offered him a showdown at high noon and ran him out of town.
