Card Readers for taking out on the road.

I use izettle, simple to use. I think the card reader cost about £28, as long as you have phone signal it's perfect. low interest rates too, better than the paypal app.

Six months back I switched from PayPal to Izettle. This is a great little reader and contactleds is great for them small jobs. Best thing? Not had to charge it yet! Woo Hoo!

Yes I looked at them all before making my purchase. The izettle and Sumup are pretty much the same thing with Sum up having a lower transaction rate. That's what made me go for Sum up and never looked back. Both are tons better then paypal.

I can't see why people think cash payments are so bad now days

If you want clean windows at a good price pay cash or bank transfer

The more technology is involved the more people have to pay

I've no jobs that the tax man don't know about but start with card readers and all that if I have to pay say 5p on every card taking the costumer will pay that not me

Yes. The cash payments seem like a dirty word out there these days thanks to the press. I always push modern forms of payment as the prefered method as this helps customers perception of me (even if it costs a few pence). Plus it makes things easy.

I got a SumUp card reader, very professional looking and easy to use but haven’t had to use it once out on jobs, bank transfers all the way. Is a good advertising angle tho, “multiple payment options available”, “visa, MasterCard, Apple Pay” etc. Sits in the glove box just in case!

I got my Sumup today  but having trouble starting up., the account i created prior to ordering, Phone number, email, bank account to use with sumup, i got a 4 digit activation code,        It now says  it cannot recognise email address,    Any ideas, Will i have to open a new account.      Ive emailed support .  awaiting a reply

Never had any issues. But give them a call to help activate it. They are really helpful.

Might be a admin error mate

Make sure your phone blue tooth is on before opening the app. Open the app and try and take a £1. It will search for your card reader. Can't remember if you have to do something else first to activate it. Just follow the instructions they emailed you.

no emails yet,   ive managed to connect up,    needed the last 4 digits of serial number,     Took a £1 of our lasses card.

She got a text stating as i put her number in , or email address for receipt.     Need to play about a bit more  before i let it loose on my customers

Nice. The serial number is on the back of the card reader. It's just a fail safe when connecting to your phone so you know it's your machine it's paired with.

Looks like you've got the hang of it now. Just play around with it with a few more £1 transactions. As you have now managed one payment it's all sorted. Easy once you get used to it.
